I came across a Herman Miller Aeron at a used furniture store for less than $100, and since I had been considering getting one, and a good refurbished one still costs $400-$600, I figured it was worth a show fixing it up. The cylinder in the air didn't work, and would slowly settle down to the bottom with any weight on it, so I bought the chair, this cylinder, and a new set of casters all in for less than $150.The hardest part about the whole thing was getting the old cylinder off of the chair (I ended up using a hammer to loosen it after getting nowhere with a pipe wrench). From there, it just took a minute to get the new cylinder in and then get the height adjustment lever properly adjusted.I can't speak to the long term use of this cylinder yet, but so far, about 2 months in, I haven't had any issues.

I've had two of these chairs in the past and both had the same issue. This chair was given to me by the company to promote and it's one of their more expensive lines. Sadly it's in generic red and not purple loke my last one that was their base line. But the both has the same problem the lift went out. So the chair it's self is very comfortable and this one has the Bluetooth speakers in it so I be damned if I was gonna throw out a FREE BLUETOOTH ENABLED CHAIR. If I get another chair by then I am definitely going to be buying this along side it to use instead of the stock cylinder give. The old one was a pain to get out but easy to install the new one once it was out in. I can definitely tell a difference because this one is def more study than the original one.

We bought this to replace one on an existing chair. The old lift would rise but when you sat in the chair you'd slowly sink down to the lowest height. We didn't want to have to replace the entire chair so we decided to try and order just the lift. It was very quick and easy to install and so far it's working great at just a fraction of the cost of a new chair.

I used this particular cylinder to replace the leaking one on my 6 year old Serta "Big & Tall' office chair. Removing the old cylinder from the chair base was the hardest part, but after reinstallation it worked perfectly... almost!The only downside is that the chair sits almost as tall as it did on the new lowest setting as it did on the medium/high setting on the original. That being said, i cannot lower it to push it under my desk anymore, and fully extended, my feet are easily off the ground (im 6'2")Not a huge downfall, but be sure to measure your original cylinder size before ordering a new one if you want to retain the original height and settings.That being said, it really is a good, high quality piece that fit the base of my chair perfectly. I just wish it sat a little lower, but i can live with it versus replacing my chair completely.

I bought a golden cylinder for my office chair that I bought and it was damaged, I knew I would have to replace. Now every time I seat, the chair sinks and as soon as I get up, the chair goes to a high position. I want to replace or get my money back.

This cylinder makes your old office chair raise & lower like a new chair. Abd it's pretty easy to replace - just follow the enclosed instructions, if you can't figure it out on your own. I've replaced the one on my home office chair several times now. It's no big deal!

It was a pain removing the old hydraulic cylinder (watching a couple of how to videos on youtube will help immensely) but the installation was very easy and fit was exactly what I needed.

Nice upgrade to save an expensive office chair. Being a bit heavier I tear up stock cylinders in months. This one is as stiff as the first day. Money well spent.

Fits all office chairs

Arrived with no instructions - I googled it to find out how to remove old cylinder and installed this new one....ended up with a chair that does not adjust in height or bounces a bit for a soft landing. At least it does not shrink down when I'm working on it. I bought a more expensive version so I was hoping for better. At least it swivels and is set a height I can use - and the white trim matches the chair.Disappointed with Staples for selling me a chair that had a hydraulic that wore out within a year and not impressed with the replacement I purchased here for more money.

Hola, he comprado este cilindro para una silla que compre y me llego sin cilindro, ya puse este cilindro y no se si no le quedo o lo estoy instalando mal pero no hace la elevacion. Le mando fotos para que me indique si estoy haciendo algo mal o es que no es de la medida para la silla. (Creo que debo quitarle ese como tapon verde pero no quiero hacerlo sin estar segura).

Soy una persona de 110kg y 1.71m. Estaba buscando un piston para mí condición y encontré éste que al parecer va durar está a mi altura, no lo considero muy alto, se ajusta a la necesidad. Por otro lado, uno debe buscar en la red cómo cambiar el pisto y sí cuesta cambiarlo.Método para cambiarlo.1. Martillo2. Un pedazo largo de madera plana3. Voltea la silla boca abajo sobre otra silla y pon la madera sobre el viejo pistón, nunca golpees lo de en medio, debes hacerlo sobre la madera y a la vez, debes jalar las patas de la silla hacia ti con fuerza y de esta forma lo sacas.4. Una vez sacado las patas del pistón viejo, procedes poner la madera sobre la base que está sujetada la punta del pistón viejo a la silla, el mismo procedimiento, sí sientes que la madera no está ayudando, quitarla y golpea esa base y jalas con fuerza y así lo retiras.5. Por último pones el nuevo pistón y ML ajustas a tu gusto y es todo.Sí en menos de un mes el pistón no me soporta, actualizaré mi comentario.Esto lo escribí el 30 de marzo de 2022.
