I compared the keyboard layout on gen 5 and newer with my mom's X1 Carbon 4th gen laptop, and there are definite differences meaning that most keyboard covers for the newer gens do not fit mine.But I noticed in the pictures this pad is cut differently than other Gen 5 covers that have come up in my search results so I took a chance as my mom really wanted a colorful keyboard cover for her laptop.I am happy to report that this fits her Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 4 laptop perfectly.

Very secure & does it job at keeping dirt, dust & crumbs out of the cracks & crevices of your keyboard.

It fits over the keys but does not stick. Moves around and catches air a lot.

This fits really well and it doesn’t slide around or anything like that, but it’s a little bit on the thicker side, so it makes typing difficult. I always leave it on because I like the way it looks, but I end up taking it off for long emails which kind of defeats the purpose.

It looks and feels fine but the fact that it doesn’t lay flat or adhere to the keyboard makes it essentially useless in my opinion. What good is a keyboard cover that moves when you type and you constantly have to adjust. The keyboard covers I’ve had in the past that fit snug to each key and are a stickier material on the bottom so they stay in place very well. This is by far the worst keyboard cover I’ve purchased.
