Great Replacement
My previous water heater in my Catilina 42 was tired and leaky. Replaced with this Whale model and back working like a champ!

Whale is an Atwood product
Seems great, switched over, hokeboattern different, but not too bad, was suprised to learn whale is part of Atwood. There is nothing difficult to changing these out, unless your getting old like me and bending and stretching into the depths of hidden places where items such as this is located. Overall a great transition

Replaced a frozen one, this is better
Same as Attwood, once installed, it will heat to very hot in just 90 minutes on 110vac. Engine heat exchanger isn’t nearly as quick to heat, so plug it in an hour or so before you depart. Keeps it hot for less than 24 hrs.

Good product at the best price I could find
I had a larger version of this water heater on my boat for over 15 years. When it gave up the ghost (corrosion) I decided to go with a slightly smaller heater to make the installation easier.I shopped on all the usual marine products stores on line but the price on Amazon was the best I found. When I factored in free Prime shipping the price was even better.I also installed an automatic thermostatic mixing valve on the outlet side so the water that comes out the tap is not scalding hot when it has been heated by the engine rather than the thermostat controlled electric heater that is used at the dock where power is available. The old unit that had corroded out looked perfectly fine from the outside. It was the galvanized version, too. They offer this heater in a stainless steel version but unless you are going to install it in a visible place I dont see where the stainless steel outside buys you anything.

almost same fit.
Removing the old waterheater was more of a task than install of the new. the new was the exact dims. of the old.I was very pleased with the price and very short shipping time (Great Job ). Had to remove charger to remome and install the new. All is well good product.

Effective replacement for our old RV heater.
Delivered quickly and had the old one out and the new one installed in just a couple of hours. Everything was the same size and location as my domestic water heater it replaced.

Misaligned fitting required grinding.pressure relief valve didn't work & had to buy another.
This was bought as a like-for-like replacement of my 37 year old hot water tank on my sailboat.I had trouble with the installation because the fitting for the hot water outlet was slightly buried inside the tank and was misaligned with the opening in the tank. Unfortunately I had already placed it inside the boat and had connected all the other lines. The manufacturer offered to replace it, but at that point I already had put too much effortinto it. I had to grind out the circular hole in the tank so I could have enough access to attach my fitting. It was a real pain in the you know where.NOW THAT I HAVE FINISHED MY INSTALLATION I HAVE CHANGED MY RATING TO 1 STAR FROM 2 STARS.I filled my water tanks, opened my faucets, and after the air was driven out, I closed the faucets, but my water pressure pump continued to run. I started to look for leaks and boy did I find one. The pressure relief valve was letting a prodigious amount of water into my locker. I tried multiple times to re-set the spring valve etc. To no avail. 24 hours later I’m still waiting for a phone call from tech support. Fuggedaboutit. I went to a plumbing supply house and $23 later I had a new valve, which needed a size reduction adapter and a threaded nipple. It works fine.TO SUM IT UP..... I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMEMT FROM THIS COMPANY.

Nice water heater but customer service fails
This is a great water heater in my RV. Brand new in July 2024. The P/T valve leaks. I have done everything I could think of but still leaks. Called customer service number on the documentation and after a lengthy recording was given a different number. Three calls, long holds, and offer to call back without losing place in line. No call—still dripping. September 2024.
