Compact and Accurate - AcuRite Pro Humidity Meter & Thermometer
I recently purchased the AcuRite Pro Humidity Meter & Thermometer with Touch Activated Backlight, and it has been a very satisfying addition to our RV. The device is user-friendly, with a straightforward interface that makes it easy to read and understand the current temperature and humidity levels. One of the standout features for me is the different mounting options. This flexibility is particularly useful in an RV setting, where space is at a premium and you need devices that can adapt to different spaces. The AcuRite Pro fits this need perfectly. In terms of accuracy, this device is spot on. I've compared its readings with other measuring devices I own, and it consistently delivers accurate results. There are no discrepancies or issues in its performance, which gives me confidence in the data it provides. Another aspect I appreciate is the quick visual readout. The display is clear and easy to read at a glance, which is convenient when you're busy and just need a quick check. Additionally, the size of the unit is just right – it's compact enough not to be obtrusive in our RV, yet large enough to easily read the display. Overall, the AcuRite Pro Humidity Meter & Thermometer is a reliable and handy tool for anyone needing to keep track of environmental conditions, especially in smaller living spaces like an RV. Its ease of use, accuracy, and compact size make it an excellent choice.

Great reliable little meter!
A great dependable meter. Updates quickly like every 10 seconds. Batteries last a long time, as I recall I only changed once after about 3 years of continuous use. I find the backlight very handy (tap the top to light). Temperature was accurate vs other gauges in the home. Didn't have another hygrometer to compare against. But taking the math approach you can take the local weather readings and calculate what the indoor relative humidity should probably be, and it was right on accurate. Great value for the money! Recently bought another one for a friend.

A little ingenuity and it works well.
First off, this is initial review: I will update if things change in the future. I'm actually quite happy with this product. I'm knocking one star off because it doesn't have a little stand to put it on. That has not been a problem for me as the table I have it on is very sturdy and does not wobble so it works fine. I do not seem to have the level of problems reading the meter as I have seen in other reviews. I mean really, it's your basic LCD. I can view mine from probably a 40 degree angle but not much more without really straining. But again, where I haven't it's not a problem. A couple of life hacks for you: while the unit does take a while to adjust to temperature, all I did was lean it up against a cold soda can. It did take a while, but eventually the temperature went down in about probably 40 minutes to a fairly accurate degree. What I did find, is that if you leave the cover off for the batteries it will adjust a lot quicker. I really could give a crap about the battery cover so for me it's not a big deal. As far as the stand or lack thereof I should say, I did another little life hack. Since this does not weigh much at all, all I did was take a little quick of cardboard off of a snack box, like triscuits, and cut it off a little less wide than the unit itself. Then I bent the cardboard about in half. I then took a little piece of clear Scotch tape from the lower bezel of the unit just below the screen. Bingo! Instant cheap stand. I know that this is not optimal, but you can't see it as far as the stand, behind the unit, so who cares? Not me. I actually had a little bit of fun setting these up. The humidity gauge is pretty accurate right away, but the temperature does take a while to adjust and is accurate from 1 to 2° which is fine with me. If I wanted a higher end unit I would have bought one. This concludes my review.

Reliable and almost no battery use.
Review of the AcuRite Humidity Meter Hygrometer and Indoor Digital Thermometer with Temperature Gauge and Humidity Gauge, Room Thermometer Comfort Scale, 3 x 2.5 Inches, White (01083M) Bought it 4.5 years ago and still working. Not sure how long the batteries last but I am on my second set of batteries. Battery meter portion of the device shows %50. A one start review says: "I am really disappointed with this purchase. Its temperature reading is way off by 3 degrees Fahrenheit." -- The reading is within the accuracy of +/- .5 °F but mine is off about 2 degrees (68) degrees from the Honeywell thermostat 70 degrees, my cheap atomic clock reads 72 degrees. I think all of then are working fine; the Honeywell is on a drywall, the Atomic Clock on a brick wall (retains more heat) and the AcuRite in my bedroom on top of chess next to a 70 year old window. . If I put the AcuRite in a standing position the temperature goes up 1 degree. Another one star review: "The thermometer takes a very long time to change " That is true, if the probe takes a long time to measure temperature is more accurate because it will not easily fluctuate. "no back light screen" but batteries last years "Display is only whole numbers(no 10ths of a degree)." It does not make any sense to display factions when the device does not have that kind of accuracy. "Screen display is small and temperature display is very small" This device is 3" inches tall. The humidity display is 13/16" and the 9/16" , I can read it 6 feet away. " no back light screen" sure but it runs on 2 AAA batteries for more than 2 years. " I placed an order for A Govee three pack" The Govee is cheaper, has bigger temperature numbers but smaller relative humidity numbers. It advertises 0.54 degree temperature accuracy; totally deceptive for the price you don't get even a probe. It has Bluetooth connectivity, this feature will drain batteries faster and you need to uses a pesky app on your phone. For the price I could give the Govee a try but I know that it will no be as accurate as specified. Also I will check if I could disable the wireless option. With the AcuRite we are paying for brand recognition. I have had mine in a shed, the garage and now in my bedroom. After 4.5 years I rate it 5 stars

Works as it should and the backlight feature is useful in dim places. Only wished that it can be connected via wifi/IOT so that I can monitor the readings remotely

A smidge smaller than an audio cassette or one and a quarter USB's high LOL. What a great looking unit. I recently had a new furnace and humidifier installed. The main new full featured digital thermostat gives me temperature and humidity readings on the main floor; but, I also need to know the same downstairs in the family room so I opted for this AcuRite 01083M Pro Accuracy Temperature and Humidity Monitor after perusing others. It met all my check marks as I know perfect doesn't exist for several reasons, having worked in the industry (unless your room is a controlled sealed bubble per se). Therefore, good and in this case very good does a great job for me. A quick glance at my family room bar fridge (where an integrated magnetic mount holds this unit), and I now have a temperature and humidity reading that is almost bang on, having tested it from the position of my thermostat upstairs. Besides, my main one is wired and costs in the lower mid triple digit category, and I'm going to compare apples to oranges? Nope! But, both of these units are closer to apples to apples and oranges to oranges. They are that good. Why does that matter? I can now set the humidifier to meet my requirements that will keep my acoustic guitar and electric guitar happy. Remember I said perfect doesn't exist? 40% - 50% humidity is usually recommended for the guitars to prevent neck warping, cracking and more, but that can be bordering on too high for some homes, so I keep a happy medium around 40% - 42% when they aren't humidified in a case. A back light? That would be handy, I suppose, but I'm guessing battery usage would increase, and I like this slick modern design Temperature and Humidity Monitor layout, size, and features. This AcuRite does the trick. Recommended.

Very useful device for checking room temperature. Would be great if it could be more easily calibrated.

Read through nearly all the reviews and go along with the majority view - this appears to be an accurate and sensitive device. I am using it to measure residual damp in a bedroom ceiling. The humidity range in my case went from 43 to 63 but never higher. I am unsure whether I will need to calibrate but that is a useful option. Instruction manual contents were unclear on toggling from 24 Hour to All time level - but then I was told the answer was on the cover of the manual not inside !

It work very well, I can leave it any where inside the house to monitor the Temperature & Humidity.
