QRP4S-P Quick Release Pliers

Professional heavy truck mechanic here, I do a lot of work with air brake tubing and fittings. I bought this set to help me with that. The right angle pliers(black handles) work perfectly and I’m very happy with them, 5 stars. However, the straight pliers(red handles) are junk, don’t grab tubes, and are worse than useless, basically trash. So do yourself a favor and buy the right angle pliers separately and don’t bother with this set.

If you are a heavy truck mechanic, I cannot recommend these enough. Many a tight spot it is impossible to get both hands in there to press on the release and pull on the airline at the same time.Customer service was excellent, my set came with two duplicate pliers, they sent me out the correct pair right away and postage to send the other back.

Products seem quality, and work well. Be sure to lube the action. Did not come greased. Blow mold case is nice but could have been more compact. Cd-rom was a a nice touch but unnecessary. All in all would recommend to a heavy duty truck mechanic. Make air lines a breaze and helps remove sticky or stuck quick fittings without damaging them.

Slight disappointment in the TREMENDOUS Grip required to achieve the separation sought.Sometimes requires a 2 fisted grip to operate these. Just gotta be some improved engineering 'out there' to apply in this case. (Hint - I wouldn't mind a ratchet operation which could help these to work nicely with one hand.)

Husband said he needed this type of tool to use to release plastic airlines on semi trucks. Unfortunately this tool kept slipping & did not live up to what it’s sole purpose for this purchase was. Even tried watching the included informational dvd but it kept skipping over and over it wasn’t watchable Needless to say it wasn’t worth the money

These are used to deal with specialized connectors on air hose plastic lines as one example. Worth having if you do that type of work a lot or the aggravation factor sets in on not being able to get the connectors loose at times, when needed.

If you work on vehicles with air brakes these will save you a lot of frustration fighting air lines. Like other reviewers said sometimes these wont work on the first try. If the end doesn't grip then add some pressure where it clamps down with your fingers on your free hand. If the quick disconnect rings don't move then use some pliers to work them back and forth to free them up. It's still way better than trying to get lines out with a wrench.

These pliers are a wonderful thing for people who often work with posh fittings. I jus wish that I had thought of it. Modified wire stripper design that works great. Two thumbs up from me ! !
