Q: Does one remove the existing grease fitting at the trailer's shaft end?

The purpose of the Bearing Buddies is to add a wheel bearing grease jerk to grease the wheel bearings. If your trailer has grease jerks to grease the wheel bearings, you don't need the Bearing Buddies. Bearing Buddies are installed by removing the wheel bearing dust cap and installing the Bearing Buddy in it's place. There is no existing grease jerk that is involved when installing Bearing Buddies.

Q: Will this fit a 2008 jayco 806 pop up trailer?

I don't believe that what the wheel is going on is as important as to whether or not the buddy bearing will properly fit. For this you can follow the bullet point "SIZING: 1.980 inch (inside diameter of hub) See secondary photograph for measuring instructions.". As long as the inner diameter of the wheel hubs on the 2008 jayco 806 pop up trailer match the sizing of the buddy bearings then they should work.

The real McCoy!

This will be my first experience with Bearing Buddy’s, but my boating friends talk highly of them. Quality seems excellent, very well made. I come from a manufacturing background - so I recognize a quality product when I see one. My boat trailer came with E-Z lube spindles, so I installed the Bearing Buddy’s over top of the existing grease nipple without issue. If anything, I expect this to be a superior lubrication system than the Bearing Buddy or E-Z lube system alone. Time will tell.
