I went river rafting and the strap that came with my hat was terrible so I bought these and they are perfect! Super light weight, goes into the hat easily and stays in place, kept my hat on through rapids, wind and jumping off the raft.

My hats frequently blow off my head, especially when I'm out on the water. I had my doubts about whether these chin cords would really work because they aren't very long and they don't look that sturdy. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. The cords are inserted into the inside band of the hat, or some hats have air holes on the sides and I've inserted the ends in there. I leave the whole cord tucked inside the hat until I need it. Usually, pulling the cord tight around my chin is effective in keeping the hat on, but if it's very windy, I put the cords behind my ears. They've worked better than I expected and I'm really happy because I can wear these cute hats without worrying about them blowing away. I'll grant you hat the cord is not the most attractive look as I have a double chin, but it is effective.

I bought this to replace my frayed cord that I have. This is so thin it looks like it will break. Also it is not the right size. I should have read more about the detail and what I was actually buying

Ok, maybe I didn't read the description close enough because I thought these would be fabric style cords, not elastic. However, that being said, I am quite pleased with them. I have several sun hats that I always worry will blow away, so I don't wear them, which has resulted in me purchasing new hats while out. After a bit of a fight to get the end to push through on the first hat, the others were quite easy to install. Some needle nose pliers helped, but now I can choose without worry of losing it.

Having lost a favorite hat from Australia, I bought these so that my favorite Sombrero wouldn’t fly off while on this trip. The chin cord seen in the photo not only kept my hat from getting lost but also kept it from flying off on a whale watching expedition in rough waters! Great value for the money.

I purchased a sun hat perfect for plein air painting, and wouldn't you know it, my fancy hat came with no chin strap. So I found this - a pack of 5 chin straps. (It was hard to find, believe it or not, I thought it would be a more common thing!) The anchors are little silver tubes that have the strap attached in the middle. Turn it like needle and thread to poke through your hat, then turn it back perpendicular to the strap and it won't pull back through. My perfect floppy sun hat is now perfect also in the wind!It came with 5, so I fixed 2 other hats and sent the extra to family members who also had that "perfect hat" that they can't wear on windy days!

A good and effective product for the purpose that was purchased for. And, at a good price, too. Started to use it already and seems easy to install on my hat. So far, so good. Highly recommended.

These straps are very thin in comparison to the straps on my hats that already have them. They also came with a completely different fitment. Never used and shoved in a drawer for a rainy day!

Have now secured my new bucket hat for the forthcoming summer. Also gave me spares for other hats in the wardrobe.

Purchased from shentaeu8, whom doesn't seem to have an active listing anymore, and they're the wrong style! Waited weeks for these to arrive and now finding they've sent a caribiner (snap hook) style for lanyards or glasses, not buckled for threading through hats. 🙄They do work well at catching the hat liner though, perhaps with a hole or slight modification they'd stay in place better instead of sliding around.

These chin straps do the job. I have a hat that I use for dog walking but on blustery days kept losing it. This chin strap was easy to fit and does a perfect job of keeping my hat in place. very happy.
