These work great.
First, there's a reason that all silica gel packs have a "do not eat" label on them. They're not good to eat, mostly because they are such good water absorbers. Similar to Portland cement in that respect. As to the cobalt scare? From the msds sheets on similar products, it's less than 1% indicator, and these are sealed up. Again, harmful level about the same as silica sand. (No kidding, play sand can cause silicosis.) You shouldn't pack this, or ANY non-edible desiccant directly in food. The aluminum isn't good for you, the silica gel isn't good for you, and none of the indicators are, either. Instead, pack the food in bags, then place those bags in another sealed bag with the desiccant. Anyway, these work great. I used them to keep 3-d filament dry, in mylar bags or metal boxes, and to keep electronics and photo equipment dry. They'll last longest in metal containers with good seals. Next best is heat sealed aluminized mylar bags. Next is probably heavy plastic containers. Worst is plastic bags. Plain plastic bags let a lot of water through, even if the bags are thick. How long do they last? Depends on the humidity. In the southwest, probably a long time. Up here in the north east? Not as long.

Made in the USA.
Made in the USA. I would rather pay a little extra an know where the product is coming from than purchase a question Chinese version. It works well in my MTM 50 cal box

I'm a chemist and I tell you this is a very good product
Keeps my gun vault (where I keep it at night, next too my bed) nice and dry. We live in a very high humidity area, and I only have to reactivate the beads every few months. And the beads do extremely well during the healing process. No problems. Color indicator works as advertised. I do have a degree in chemistry, so I know what I'm talking about. This is a very good product.

Great extra protection and reassurance.
Great for CaseClub 8 pistol cases as well as Plano 42" double rifle, weather resistant, pluck foam cases. Recharge easily as engraved on the product itself. 300 degrees for a few hours, and they are good-as-new. I don't personally need them for ammo boxes due to the low humidity where I live. But if I relocate back to Midwest, I'll either have to buy a ton of these, or set up a small walk-in armory with dehumidifier.

Work great!
I use these wherever you want to avoid moisture. They are simple to use and to reactivate. I have bought several for multiple purposes.

I have done this several times and it still works great. Great product
I put this in my drone electronic cases and my camera equipment cases and it keeps all the moisture out of it. When the colour changes, I simply put it in the oven and it recharges it again. I have done this several times and it still works great. Great product
