This was an exact fit. My old recoil starter assembly had been beaten up over the years. I've replaced the rope multiple times, which would cost me 7 dollars each time. This last time, not only did the rope snap, the spring inside got all mangled along with parts of the plastic gear getting chewed up. This new part seemed better built. The plastic was stiffer, possibly thicker. The rope/spring on the pull handle part seemed better quality than the replacements I kept buying. I literally put this on, screwed the 3 nuts to hold it onto the top of my lawn mower and pulled once and it started right back up. It couldn't have been easier. Well worth it.

It worked and done what its meant to do..only thing that was weird was it sounded like metal was clinking at first but after use the sound went away . Worked great on my pressure washer

Received it an hour ago, put it on a mower, and after two pulls I heard rattling. One of the claws had broken. I took it apart and check. This is made as if it were for a toddler's toy. I ordered it for a reason and don't need the headache of returning this DAMAGED crap. Keep the refund. Thanks for NOTHING. I'll make a note and NEVER order from this company again.
