Gorgeous puzzle; tons of detail
As a 59 year old life long Star Trek fan, I have to say this puzzle is EPIC. I think the beautiful drawing includes EVERY significant character/guest star/alien in TOS. Really fun to be reminded of all those stories and characters every time you add a piece. My puzzle was 100% complete with ALL pieces accounted for and beautifully cut. CAUTION: As someone mentioned in another review, there is a SLIGHT physical mismatch between two outside edge black border pieces, on the left side and right side, exactly halfway down the puzzle length. It’s nothing that impacts the final picture, as the actual image matches almost perfectly. But it WILL drive you crazy tying to understand why two pieces in the right and left black border don’t align perfectly, especially since they’re almost pure black. Just put them in place and you’ll be fine.GREAT PUZZLE and BEAUTIFUL ART. I plan to seal it with puzzle glue or mod podge, then frame and and mount it on the wall in my man cave.I just bought the 3,000 piece Star Trek: TGN puzzle by the same artist and made by Aquarius. Can’t wait to start it next. Highly Recommended.

Classic Trek
This is a beautiful graphic with vintage-looking design for the classic original series Star Trek fans. The image is really chock full of characters, aliens, and crewmembers that it is both wistfully nostalgic and fun. The finished size is an overwhelming 32 1/2" wide by 45 1/2" long. The puzzle arrived securely in a clear plastic bag within a graphic box shipped in a cardboard box. The individual puzzle pieces vary from 3/4" to about 1 1/4". All of the pieces in my set were cut cleanly and glued securely with no cracking, peeling, or separation between the top layer with the image and the bottom paperboard layer. There was a bit of dust in the bag, maybe a 1/4 teaspoon worth in total, but it is noticeable.I did have a problem with my puzzle as the finished article was missing three pieces. As the puzzle was started and finished in a room with the door closed at all times, this could only have been a packaging issue at the factory. I contacted NMR Distribution in order to replace the missing pieces. They in turn sent me a whole new puzzle. That seems over and beyond typical customer service (Quelle surprise!) but I did receive a whole new puzzle. The new puzzle arrived about five weeks after first contacting the company, but it was just as the holiday shopping season commenced and they did not have my correct mailing address, so it is understandable.Because of the wonderful customer service, the quality of the jigsaw, and the overall design of the graphic, I am giving this item a five star rating. Now, if only someone can mount it for me...

Epic puzzle!!!
Holy crap this puzzle is epic. My housemates and I are all Star Trek fans and it was fun putting this thing together over the course of a few weeks and remembering all the different characters/objects found in the puzzle. Another reviewer mentioned missing pieces but ours were all there. (I notice comments about missing pieces on reviews for other puzzles too. It makes me wonder if those houses have a prankster in their midst, or maybe an angry/vindictive child? Or maybe a piece gets vacuumed up? With that said, I would have been REALLY bummed if ours was missing a piece.)Having the puzzle in our house was a good team building exercise. We did another Star Trek puzzle (Star Trek Original Cast Jigsaw Puzzle, 1000-Piece) before this one.The black border was a challenge and we saved most of that for last. Luckily there is a slight green shade that starts at the top and fades out on the way down. Without that it would have been a nightmare. Note, you'll need a good sized surface for this puzzle. (Completed puzzle size is 45.5" x 32.5") With all the pieces spread out it covers a LOT of surface area! Happy puzzling!

Fun & challenging, but missing pieces
This was a really fun & challenging puzzle to complete. It definitely took me a few hours each day for a few days to complete. Only caveat is that it was missing three edge pieces, which is why I bumped it down a star.

Amazing visual interpretation of the series!
First, the art that led me to buy this in the first place. It's totally amazing. All of the major characters and many of the ships and settings of some of the best episodes of STOS all in one image—mind-blowing! As my wife and I worked away on it, so many great memories returned of this iconic show. I was surprised how I still remembered episode and character names, triggered by seeing a face or setting. Brilliantly done, and available as a 27x40 print from the artist's website: dustyabell.comThis puzzle is a beast! We had to put both extensions into our dining room table to handle this. The print quality is very good. The pieces fit well. We found very few in the all-black areas that we had trouble getting into the true location because they were "almost" fitting. I'd guess that piece size averages just under an inch. Quite a few pieces have thin areas, and maybe a dozen pieces have very thin sections that made taking it apart yesterday (just in time for Thanksgiving, ha!) very challenging. I think I managed to tear only one piece off.I was happy to find the artist website and order a few printed (one for me, and two for gifts), I think I might have been better off looking into preserving the assembled puzzle and mounting/framing it. It's challenging enough that I'm not going to want to put this together again for many years, and taking it apart was troubling, especially when I tore one of the thinnest pieces.

Really, really big!
I got the chance to meet Dusty, the artist, at the 50th anniversary convention in Vegas. Super nice guy. This image is the officially licensed version of artwork Dusty created years ago. Other than recoloring it there was only one change, they could not get the rights for the image of Roger C. Carmel (Harry Mudd), but they did have the rights to Harry's image from the animated series. If you look at original images of the artwork you see Harry with a hat and orange shirt, but in this he is in a white tunic with red flower.Just throwing that in for no reason. The puzzle is great, but really large. We had to fashion a table out of floor boards to do it.
