Very useful

I've gotten a couple of the most popular cat brushes and this one has a few virtues over the others. One of my foster cats LOVES this comb. She was very moody before, but now I can show her I'm bringing the comb and she doesn't run away. 1. It works great on short haired cats, where as most other combs work much better on long haired cats. 2. It's great for grooming around the neck, which is a difficult spot to groom. 3. It removes a lot of fur quickly.Con: It's ridiculously overpriced. It has no right being $20 as a piece of saw blade glued in a piece of wood.

I discovered this product on the YouTube, "Girl With the Dogs", a professional pet groomer. I immediately purchased one and I was absolutely elated with the results. Despite all the daily combing I would give my cat, the Equigroomer got right down and pulled out more fur that just blew me away. The first time my cat just laid on all his sides to thoroughly enjoy the experience of being combed with the Equigroomer. I noticed that he stopped scratching that much ... I guess the collection of undercoat was starting to irritate him. Equigroomer DOES THE JOB. If you think you have combed your cat, guess again. You don't have to press hard, just a light firmness and be sure to be in an area that is easy to clean up all the old undercoat that will be extracted by this product. Equigroomer was exactly as advertised, quality of the product superb, got it on time and would highly recommend this product to any pet owner, including the 'rake', which is also illustrated on the YouTube video, "Girl With the Dogs". She shares every bit of her profession pet grooming advice, especially the shampoo that rids the undercoat on dogs. Since watching this show, ordering this product on Amazon, I have one very happy kitty cat and he has less fur balls and there is less hair all over the house.

This doesn't work as fast or effectively as say an undercoat rake but that isn't the point of it. The point of it is that it doesn't pull, which makes it easier to do so for a longer period of time without your pet running off and hiding or getting annoyed with you.It should be noted however, that dogs and cats are different on an individual to individual level. So this may work well on my long-hair German Shepherd but not yours. This is good to try if your pet HATES other grooming tools and you may have to mix and match different brushes and combs to fully brush out a thicker coat without upsetting your pet too much doing it.

My short-haired cat (russian blue) used to throw up a lot of furballs, despite me brushing him daily and giving him hairball paste as a treat. I could not believe how much more fur this equigroomer tool picked up from my cat! Almost triple the amount from when I used a regular cat brush. Sure it was a bit messier, because there is nothing to catch/collect the fur except your hands, but that's fine with me. My cat also seems to like being brushed with this tool and runs towards me to get brushed when he sees me pick it up. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who has a short-haired cat that sheds a lot, or that throws up a lot of hairballs: it really works to get rid of the extra loose fur and prevent furballs.
