what is the size of this pit cover?

The Solo Stove Lid is 19.43" in diameter and weighs 3.9lbs.

Does this lid hang over the edge of the solo stove or does it fit inside the edge where the ring sits?

The lid fits over the outside just enough to keep water and snow out.

I know it says not for use to snuff fire, but what is the downside if I use it to keep a dying fire from spitting embers? Discoloration? Warping?

can I leave my pit outside with the lid as a table in southen california?

Mine is outside all yeari in the northeast with no problem. Lid makes a nice little table and is heavy enough to stay put in windy weather.
