A Heartfelt Reminder of What Truly Matters
Reading The Happiest Man on Earth was a deeply emotional and inspiring experience. Eddie Jaku’s life story is filled with unimaginable hardship, yet his words are full of kindness, resilience, and hope. Despite surviving one of history’s darkest times, he somehow came out with a stronger belief in the goodness of people. Each short chapter offers powerful lessons on choosing gratitude and love, even in the face of hate and suffering. What stood out to me most was the warmth and sincerity in Eddie’s voice—it feels like sitting down with a wise grandfather who wants you to live a good life. This book left me reflecting on how I treat others and what I take for granted. It’s a quick read, but the impact lingers long after. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for perspective, strength, or simply a beautiful story of human courage.

A truely happy outcome and a pleasure to read.
An enlightening and joyful book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. (There are, of course, some sad parts as this is the memoir of a Holocaust survivor but not too graphic cruelty).

To Take Note of What History Teaches Us
This is an important story, it presents a time of history that we dare not forget. After so many years it is east to relegate the holocaust to the dustbins of history. This story brings to light a terrible time that this present generation and others to follow, will have no conception of, unless the story keeps being told. This book tells the story of ones man's journey through a time of unspeakable and unfathomable evil. The book is beautifully written, with touching memories of family, friends and the desire for a kinder, gentler world. The only reason the book did not get 5 stars was that it arrived in somewhat battered condition. This is a must read for younger generations.

Humans are incredible.
Great read. This guy was a strong human being going through what he went through. Can't imagine how anyone could've survived that. He lived a long life afterwards so there's always a silver lining in life!

Heal the world, make it a better place.
This book should be required reading for every human. As Eddie Jaku points out in his book (first U.S. edition, 2021), "...hatred ...is now on the rise everywhere in the world." Fascist ideas and doctrine are on the rise, unfortunately, even in the U.S. "Heal the world, make it a better place," as Michael Jackson would so beautifully sing to inspire us all. I'm not naive, but to where have empathy and love seemingly vanished, or worse, been vanquished? This greed-infused world is very sick, just as it was when Hitler's voice so hideously rang out his fascist doctrine. Peace is ever fleeting in the face of evil.
