this will not be compatible with them so make sure you check your controller before buying this to avoid disappointment.
If you have the old model Philips hue light strips, this adapter allows you to create a fork from the controller so you can run two (or more) strips from a single controller.Beware, if you have the newer hard wired philips hue light strips, this will not be compatible with them so make sure you check your controller before buying this to avoid disappointment.

Product doesn't work with the second generation lightstrip controller
This review is not about the quality of the product (which seems to be fine) but about the applicability. The latest Philips Lightstrip controller boxes don't have a 6 pin connector slot but instead are hard wired to the first 2m cable. This means that the direct to controller adapter can't be fitted. Litcessory did reply to my enquiry stating that it's a known issue and one that they are working on. However given this I think it's remiss of them to continue selling a single use product that can't be used.I'm not slagging off the company or their products but potential purchasers should be aware that this doesn't work with the second generation product.

These don't work with the latest lights trips from Hue. The starter strip is hard wired into the control box - nowhere to plug these. Frustrating...

Appear to be good but dont work with latest hue version 4
Bought to extend the kitchen hue lighting strips I have just bought but it appears these connectors only work with the older versions of the hue light strips. Mine appear to have the smaller micro 6 pin adapters..V4? Not the companies fault and as I had opened I don't feel I can send back. But would have appreciated if the site made it clear the versions of hue these fit as I would not have bought them. I see from the questions and answers that some time in the future there may be v4 versions

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME: THANK YOU LITCESSORY!!
Bought this because I got a 5$ v4 hue strip and wanted to attempt to combine this with a v3 base. I had the small extension cable that came with the hue strip. Considering the micro pin did not fit in the micro pin header of the litcessory extension, I gutted open the hue extension, removed the pin support plastic, stretched pins a bit and connected it. LO AND BEHOLD: IT WORKS!!So again, do not try this at home if you are uncomfortable with DIY projects. Just know that pin headers between v3 and v4 are still aligned, so as long as you find a way to bridge the two, you'll be able to extend it just fine.THANKS LITCESSORY! Even though that's not what your product is used for

Good to connect old strip extensions to new core lightstrip
I have used this as solution to connect the old strip extensions to a new lightstrip, it works fine but you need to connect first the extensions and then the core strip which may be counter intuitive.

Just what I was looking for!
I needed to be able to have the Hue light strip far away 20' away from the control box. This cable paired with the RJ-45 to 6PIN adapter worked great. Thanks to other reviewers for pointing out that if this doesn't work, you can just reverse the connector. I'd recommend wiring it up on the ground first to test everything is the right way round.Make sure you check what lightstrip you have: Detachable vs. Hard Wired.
