Q: Will these allow me to store my flip tree with the ornament on it?

Yes, I think you could as long as they are not breakable. The hangers make the ornaments very secure on the tree but I am not sure what condition they will be one the tree is folded up. Even if you decide to take them on/off each year, these new hangers make both processes much quicker. I just love them.

Q: Any tips to get these onto the branches? My tree has bushy branches and I struggle to get these far enough on to the branch. My loops do not stretch

I suggest that you move the clip all of the down as you place the loop over the branch, then, move the clip up. See if that works. Good luck.

Q: does this loop over the branch or does it clamp on? I like to add ornaments on branches past the first tips.

It loops around the branch and then it tights down with the slider latch...like in a drawstring bag. I used them on with my heavier ornaments. So far they have stay on great even with a toddler and a cat.
