Product works as intended
Used this to paint a steel front bumper. One can was perfect to cover the entire thing thoroughly. I let it dry overnight and it was a nice finish. Just be careful of runs, follow the directions on the can. Been a week now and no issues yet.

Easy to use.
Rustoleum is a reliable name. I cleaned the area of my truck bed that needed recoated, then just sprayed a few coats over it. Easy enough. Dries fast between coats too.

Excellent value for cheap jobs, but spray heads SUCK!
On 7/27/16 I bought 2 of these cans on Amazon for $6.50 each as an “Add-On” to use on PRIMED PLYWOOD.First, RUST-OLEUM SUCKS FOR NOT FIXING THE SPRAY CLOGGING ISSUES!!!!I am making an 8” high (above wheel wells) false bed, which extends over the open tail gate, for my 2009 Nissan Crew Cab. This is for 2 reasons.1. Sleep 2 people comfortably.2. Wheel wells prevent efficient packing of the vehicle, particularly with Costco/Home Depot storage tubs. Now I can pack up to 14 pre-organized and labeled camping storage tubs (7 on 7) perfectly, within 5 minutes while packing long things like poles, tools, rods and chairs underneath the false bed. Ratchet strapping is now simple, fast and requires no bungees.1. I bought some 3/8” plywood. Home Depot recommended I used Kilz2 ($17) to prime it.2. I applied 2 heavy coats on the top and 1 on the bottom using 3/4 of a gallon.3. I allowed the paint to set 2 days between coats. Have no idea if that matters. On 8/29/16, today, I used the first two 15oz cans of Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating.1. I first weighed both cans without the caps. Can1 = 19oz, Can2 = 19.2oz.2. I used a Rust-Oleum Comfort Grip trigger ($6) which I already happened to have. Having read 90% of all of these reviews, there was no possible way I was going to attempt to use this stuff without a spray trigger.3. I shook both cans at least 4 minutes each over 1.5 hours as I did other stuff. I have no idea if that helped, but I was not taking chances.4. When I began painting it was 87F with 16% humidity.5. CAN1 began sputtering immediately. I kept shaking it upright while I sprayed and did not get any drops until about half way when it started sputtering again. I then turned the can upside down and the spray became very smooth and I did not have to shake it at all, but then drops started falling and became worse as the can emptied. SEE PIC. When the paint ran low, I began doing the 3/8” sides so I could continue painting.6. CAN2 began sputtering immediately and I immediately turned it upside down when I began spraying resulting in paint drops again, but no shaking was necessary. The paint drops are of no consequence whatsoever for this project and will be hidden by the second coat. When the paint ran low, I had to stand the board up to continue.7. Two cans barely covered the 57”x80” (32sf) surface and 3/8” sides in a splotchy manner with numerous small areas not fully coated. 3 cans were required. It will take a minimum of 3 cans to do a second coat correctly.8. After using every possible drop I could, can 1 weighed 4.5oz and can 2 weighed 4.3oz for a net usable amount of 14.5oz and 14.9oz respectively. Woo hooooo!!!9. I compared the grit on the finish with 60/80/100/120/150/240 sandpapers that I had on hand. It was very hard to compare since the painted grit was much more sparse than sandpaper. My best guess would be equivalent to between 80-100 grit.10. This stuff does not compare in any way to the stuff sprayed professionally in truck beds. However, it’s so cheap that you should consider carefully whether you need the professional spray job or the better brush/roll-on versions.TIPS:1. USE A GOOD SPRAY CAN TRIGGER!!! They work great upside down too. I did not get a single drop of paint on my latex gloves while spraying despite shaking the can, and with drops falling.2. Spray the downward area of the item first. Then when the can starts sputtering, you can level the can out towards the sides and effectively use more paint.3. A can might cost you up to a $1 more at Home Depot or Walmart. So don’t worry about under-ordering.*** 30 August 2016; UPDATE/CORRECTION ***I bought an additional 4 cans from my local Home Depot at $7.46 ea, before 10% military discount, for a total of 6 cans, the last one for touch ups.The 6 cans weighed an average of 18.98oz before using (without cap) and ranged from 8.7 to 9.3oz. The 5 used cans weighed an average of 4.2oz after using as much as possible for a net average of 14.84oz of paint per can. When I began painting tonight, it was 88F and 24%RH.CAN3: I neglected to turn the cap to the front after shaking it and began spraying inside the trigger housing. Bummer. I had to clean it up real quick before starting again. I turned it upside down to spray and it began sputtering badly. I turned it back upright and it began spraying smooth until it got down to about 50-60% and then I had to shake it up and down every 10 seconds or so at decreasing intervals.CAN4 worked the same as Can3.CAN5 worked the same also except that it had a much, much better black matte finish then the other 2 cans, which is good because I over sprayed with Can3, and it ran, and was too glossy.TIP 4: How your cans perform depends on the batch, which depends on where you bought it.

Easy to Use
This product works well and is easy to apply. I used this in a pickup with a 5ft bed and it only took 4 cans, and provided a heavy coat.Note you should use gloves and a mask when applying. Don't spray too close or heavy as the paint will run.

Absolute garbage
So I originally purchased 3 cans of this hoping it would be enough to cover the truck topper I built. I ended up needing a 4th can unfortunately. I knew I was taking my chances with this from all of the reviews but I couldn't find another product that had better reviews, plus its Rust-Oleum, right? Yeaaahhhhhh not so much.First can sprayed well for about the first 30 seconds then only aerosol came out. I shook the can for another 10-15 seconds and got 1 spray out of it. Shook the can again, 1 spray out of it. I think you're starting to get the picture here, if not, I shook the can again and got one spray out of it. Turning the can on it's side seemed to spray a little better so I tried that. YES!!! I got THREE sprays out of it!! This isn't going as planned. After struggling to get through the first can, I knew I still had two more to go. So I shook up can number 2 and off I went. This can sprayed well for the first 30 seconds or so also. Maybe this one is better? Ohhhhhhh wait, no, there it is. Nothing but aerosol, again. So I turn the can on it's side, same as can number one. What if I decided to turn it upside down, what's the worst that can happen? Hey look at that! It's working! I continued spraying this entire can in the upside down position and it worked without issue. So fast forward to today, I get the 4th can in the mail because the first 2 covered the bottom side and I just didn't have enough with one can to finish the top side. On to can number three we go. What's the chances this one works any better? The chances were pretty slim but this can fought against the odds and showed the other two cans why you always save the best for last! This can worked ALMOST flawlessly the entire time, the only issue was excessive dripping from the nozzle. I did not have to invert this can to get it to spray, it worked great.I get the 4th can out of the newly delivered box, shake it like a crying baby and go outside to the topper rack. I get one, yes you read that right, ONE spray out of this one and it completely stops. No bed liner, no aerosol, NOTHING. Well that's not overly surprising at this point but it's still surprising that nothing is coming out. So I shake it harder and try it again. One more spray and then you hear it just go silent. Hmmm, maybe bad nozzle. So I pull one off the third can that I just finished using since it was flawless. Now I have the ultimate spray nozzle on the 4th can ready to do some serious business here. Wait, what's that noise? Oh it's the birds chirping, why do they seem so loud? Ahhhhh because the newly swapped nozzle didn't make a difference and there's no sound coming out with the spray. I take the can in the house, let it sit in warm water for about 15 minutes and take it back outside. Surely that helped. And it did!! I got 2 sprays out of it this time and then it gave up the ghost. So LONG story short, save yourself some time and money, buy something else. Being 1 for 4 isn't bad in a baseball game, but it isn't great when you're trying to get some bed liner to spray, or the chances of not getting your significant other pregnant. In Amazon's defense, I contacted customer service and they're sending me a replacement can. Let's see if I can get that batting average up to 2 for 5 like a boss! I'll update this after the new can shows up.***UPDATE***So I decided to run to my local home improvement store after writing this original review. Bought 2 more cans instead of waiting for the replacement from Amazon. I get home, shake them up and attempt to use the first can, now can number 5 overall. I get one good solid line of spray out of the can and it just stops dead in its tracks. Nothing is coming out. I shake it up, try again, nothing. This is unreal. On to can number 2 from the local hardware store. I shake it up, point it at an area that still needs coverage and BAM it's working! YESSSSSSS! Ohhh wait, what's this? It stopped working too. In about the same amount of time as the last can. I shake it up. Again, nothing. Neither of these 2 cans sprayed more than 5 seconds. This just can't be happening. So I grabbed my receipt, head back to the home improvement store and explain to the person at the returns counter what happened. "Oh that's pretty common with these. If you go get 2 more cans we can replace these for you." Those were the words of encouragement I was waiting to hear for this project. This pain I've been suffering has been levied across the board to all who have dared to go where I'm going.I get home with cans number 3 and 4 from the hardware store, cans number 7 and 8 for the project. Keep in mind, I only needed 4 cans to do this small job originally. Now I'm shaking up can number 7 like one of those electronic paint mixers. I can no longer feel my arms so I pop the cap off, take a deep breath and start spraying. This can ranked right up there with can number 3. It's THE BEST CAN EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I spray that can until it's empty and call it good with the project. Can number 8 is sitting on standby and can number 9 is on it's way from Amazon still.Moral of the story. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. I've "used" 7 cans from 2 different places, 2 different orders from Amazon and 2 trips to the hardware store. In the words of Obi Wan Kenobi, "these are not the cans you're looking for. Move along."
