Very effective on the range to hear commands while getting excellent protection from shot sound. comfortable, solid volume control — and great value, no need to spend more, imho.

When first putting in the batteries and turning them on I heard a static/crackling noise. I was sitting in my living room. Once I got up and went out side the static went away.I think the static was created by iPhone charging to the left of me, and my router and Arlo hub station to the left of me. Like I said, once I got away from them, the static/crackling went away.If you ever have this problem, get away from the electronics or other electronic devices.I have yet to shot my guns with them on seeing I’m reviewing this straight out of the box.I’ll try to remember to update this review once I shoot with them on.I hope this helps anyone that may think something is wrong with the product.Update: 7/7/219- they work great. Shot my 9m and when you turn them off, it is silent and great. I made the mistake to shot my Glock when it first arrived. Didn’t have these yet and shit the gun. One clip in, I was deaf. Ears ringing. I knew better but was excited. All I had was cotton balls. Used them for the remaining time I shot. I knew I needed something like this and so glad I bought these. Comfortable, quite, and slim. Very happy.

I bought these for shooting but have also used for lawnmowing and to work quietly in the office. I usually have the mic off unless others are around to communicate with at the range. I have also turned the mic off and worn apple earbuds inside the muffs because the sound is somewhat better than connecting to the headset. Plugging into the headset requires turning up the volume and that seems to let in other noise in addition to the cord. So I think I have it figured out and these are really excellent. I have bought 3 pairs so that my sons can each have good protection and we can still talk. I also sometimes wear foam plugs under the muffs for a super quiet experience, and the neat thing is you can then turn the mic up and hear somebody talking really well but still have maximum dB reduction. I have a family member with a bigger name brand set that looks identical, and I think the Awesafe is every bit as good. In fact, the HL has some static when they are on, but mine do not.

On shooting ranges, I have always used earplugs, even when wearing earmuffs, whether passive or electronic. An electronic earmuff is so much better, because it protects your hearing from the very loud high frequency sounds, while allowing you to hear the quieter, lower frequency sounds, like when the RSO or your range partner is trying to talk to you. This product, in combination with earplugs, makes for a satisfactory hearing protection solution.There are better electronic muffs out there, but this one is adequate, and a good bang for the buck. Pardon the pun.

Having worn through numerous standard hearing protection headphones, you know the ones you buy for yard work that cut out the lawnmower noise as well as anyone wanting to get your attention, I tried these these for a shooting range as I wanted to block out the gun noise but be able to hear the instructor. These headphones are amazing. The selective noise reduction is so much better than traditional ear protection and you can hold a clear conversation without having to remove them.I can never go back to old ones. These are my new go to headsets. Customer Service is amazing as well.

I finally got to the range to test these ear muffs and they performed as expected. I don’t really have a lot of experience with electronic ear muffs. I used another more expensive brand a few weeks earlier for the first time. I didn’t notice any difference in performance. I do wish there was a visual way to know if the muffs are turned off to save the batteries. I don’t frequent the shooting range, so I can’t speak to the longevity of this product. I love the purple color, though. Matches my gun.

I can’t believe how well made these are at such a low price. My husband and I were shocked. We shoot at home in our private gun range, and they’re awesome at noise cancellation. I can’t comment on how well they’d do in a louder environment, but my friends have much more expensive head gear and they say they use ear plugs at the indoor range with theirs.The quality of construction impressed us right out of the box!! The way they fold into themselves. I can’t describe it exactly, but it feels so solid and they slide into place with such precision. Very compact and tight. They feel expensive and well made.The fit over the head is extremely comfortable, too. The top band is contoured and they just slip right over the ears with no problems.The amplification, also perfect. Very clear acoustics. They shut off by themselves after four hours, just in case you forget, but very easy to change the dial to off/on and volume up/down.I can’t recommend them highly enough!! Do not hesitate to buy a pair.

We got these for our 11 year old son to use when he is mowing the lawn amd to wear when he is hunting. They work great! He can’t hear anything when he has them on!! They also adjust easily and fit his head perfectly. Highly recommend

I owned a set of high end electronic ear muff, which cost significantly more than these "awesafe" ones. I wanted a second set for when I bring a guest to the range. Turns out that they work as well as my branded ones. The quality seems fine so far and changing batteries is quite easy. I find those are great value.

I wanted to love these but had to return, nothing wrong with the product, but I found them too uncomfortable on the ears when wearing with eye protection... Otherwise everything else functioned as it should and the sound amplification was awesome.

They let you hear like you’re not even wearing them and when they catch a gunshot they lower the sound so you don’t get blasted.Im happy with those
