Is Ajax dishwashing liquid a detergent?

Yes, the pictured Ajax liquid is a detergent...but the newer "Ultra" formulation they've changed to and now on the market smells more like a poisonous chemical that you certainly don't want on your dishes or pet bowls. Totally ruined a product that worked just fine the way it was.

No ...it's just like any hand dishwashing soap. Not for dishwasher

What happens if it is added to water that has bleach in it?

I have added this to water with bleach in it but have only used about 2 capfuls of bleach. It has the same effect that a normal dish liquid has. The odor of the two mixing together is a bit strong but the same as if you were using regular dish liquid. However, I limited the amount of bleach to two capfuls just in case there was some type of chemical reaction. So far, I have not had bad reactions to the mixture of the two.
