This sub met all expectations
Jbl is known to be one of the top brands but for this 12 inch sub to sound like this it should be rated #1 all around

Love jbl but ?
I love jbl brand however I'm disappointed in the sound of this subwoofer. Compared to the rockford fosgate p3 the jbl lacks bass and volume. However it could be that jbl recommend 2.5 cubic ft inclosure and mine is only 2 cubic ft and also needs to be broken in. I believe if you can fit a larger inclosure in your vehicle it would probably sound awesome it's a good subwoofer all together though.

Very accurate sub that does it all
I have the Infinity Kappa which is the exact same subwoofer. It gives me goose bumps with it’s sound. Beware “boomers”, you will hear strange sounds coming from this subwoofer!!! Not to worry. It is only accurate delivery that lesser subs can not produce. You will hear drum, bass gutiar, and low vocals, that only a subwoofer like this can produce, and are totally missing from boomy unaccurate sub’s. You may need 2 of these JBL’s or Infinity Kappa's in a sealed box with a 700 watt amp if you enjoy destroying your eardrums, and cracking your auto glass. This JBL Stadium has class.

Waste of money and time
Had installed in my 17' Maxima. Had a Audiopipe 1500 amp to power it and blew twice on me. Had to go with something stronger.

These are the BEST sounding, tightest, SLAMMER of of a pair of subs... AND the SQ is AWESOME too!!
So, just to start off, I'll go on and say that there is literally NOTHING about these subwoofers that I do not like. So, if you are looking for a review with some legit "pro n cons" list... This ain't gonna be it! However, that is not to say that you can't gain anything from reading this review, because these subs are just one of those few things in the world, that quite literally do not have any down side. Except for price, if you want to consider that a con. But I certainly do not. Not even in the least, because even at their full retail price, these subwoofers are easily worth their weight in gold, and then some. The thing is, in the car audio industry, over that past 25 to 30 years, the amount of subwoofers that have been available for purchase (especially by the "average joe"), which easily accel in BOTH areas of SPL, AND Sound Quality, have been slim to none. Meaning, just about ZERO. If not zero, then very close to it, and if so, then your idea of excelling in both areas is likely a good bit different from mine. And in order to truly understand what I mean, the only solution you really have, is to stop reading this review, and go ahead and purchase one - or better yet, TWO... yeah, TWO is DEFINITELY better, for sure... so yeah... Do that - for yourself. And this would not be a bad idea at all. For one, you would save yourself some valuable time, and that is always a plus. And two... It would mean that in a matter of days, you too would be the very pleased owner of one (or preferably two!! but NOT necessary) of these beautiful behemoths! And that is never going to be anything but, a sincerely GOOD thing, both for you... AND for your music!I'm telling you folks... These subs are the best thing to come along in the world of subwoofers, since, well, the subwoofer itself! And the big difference is, that this sub takes care of so many of the inherent issues with so many of the subs out there these days, that just are not up to par...The single greatest of these issues, that I can think of, is the fact that, until this sub came along, one had no choice but to choose between a heavy, ridiculous looking, crazy huge subwoofer with multiple ridiculous looking big ol heavy a** magnets hanging from the bottom of it, and a big ol ugly looking cone surround, that looks like you somehow managed to find a subwoofer that suffers from diabetes and can't afford it's meds, or something along those lines... (I know, my analogies are FIRE and make you laugh! SCORE one for me for making someone laugh today! Because making a person laugh is where its at! If we all left the house each AM with the goal to make at least one person laugh... The world would be a so much better place, and there's just no arguing that fact... The people at the Discovery channel did a study on it, and laughing really does make the world a better place! Okay... I'm reaching a bit there... I'm not sure that ANYBODY ever did such a study, okay!... But even so, I just feel like it makes perfect sense that if we all set that goal for ourselves each morning, that the world would inevitably become a better place. It just would, I'm certain of it.Anyway, so as I was saying... Until the Stadium Series subs by JBL, one was forced to choose between some ridiculous looking monstrosity, that would give them some crazy amount of power handling, which would no doubt translate into some crazy huge SPL number... So, the car would SLAM, for a certainty... OR, one could go a completely different route, and go for a subwoofer that is more akin to just a large diameter speaker, that certainly looks alot more like a regular full-range driver, only 12 inches in size, but the sound quality would be there, where it just isn't with those ridiculous looking DVC subs with the massive surrounds that look like... Well, they just don't look good. At least, not to me...So, enter the JBL Stadium 122SSI (and 102SSI and 82SSI). Its the solution for the issue of getting serious SPL, but still maintaining great sounding quality as well.
