I needed a larger sturdier adapter than usually found for a hot / cold shoe adapter since the Olympus case has a thicker plate than you tend to find on other camera systems. This works like a champ and has ample room for even thicker plates if needed. I am looking forward to using it under water and will update on the hardware if there are any issues. As of initial seating I am very excited.

Great idea and mostly fine in practice, but occasionally I need it at an angle where if the weight is not perfectly centered, it will pan down via gravity, especially on something bumpy/in motion like a bike, car, boat.... I wish there was a way to lock the pan rotation all the way down. With the tilt (standard GoPro mount design), you can keep twisting until it's completely locked and won't be loosened unless you apply some strong torque.

Used this on the hotshoe of my nikon d7500 to hold the gopro 7 on top of it to shoot and film an airshow. Worked great!

Having blown some money on another adapter that did't work well, this one delivers. The issue on the last one I bought was the long screw that fastens the adapter to the GoPro was too wide at the end and kept the camera at an angle. This one? Everything fits perfectly and it's sturdy. Highly recommend.

I was on a hunt for a good cold shoe mount to attach my GoPro to my underwater Camera housing. I needed something highly corrosion resistant and preferable compact. Bonus points if it was tapped for 1/4-inch tripod threads on the bottom, which this one is. I generally liked the build quality of this adapter except for the huge size. Compared to others, it is about 1/2” taller, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is. Others have commented that the base is askew to the mount, well they just need to turn it. This is the only mount I found that is designed to rotate. That has is pluses and minuses. For my use, in an underwater environment, it’s more of a minus. It usually seems the more moving components something has, the more it’s susceptible to corrosion and breakdown. The third strike against this mount and probably biggest reason that I did not ultimately keep it, is the slots are too narrow to fit the standard gopro mount. I felt like I was going to break the plastic tabs on the bottom of the housing just trying to get them to squeeze onto this mount.One big aspect this mount has going for it that most do not, is the clearance for the cold shoe itself is quite large. This allow it to be mounted to very thick cold shoe plates, like the ones on underwater camera housings. Two others I tried I could not even get to slide onto the cold shoe as they didn’t open wide enough.

I am so glad that they made this, so I could stack up my go pro on top of my Canon R5.
