Reception can be sketchy
First off, if looks are all you care about, then buy this antenna for the Z3. Reception is less than perfect, however, as I live outside of Boston and its most powerful radio station (WZLX 100.7) was static. Bought 16" antenna instead. It unscrews, so just take it off prior to a carwash, which you don't have to do with the short one.

Fits 2008 BMW Z4 E86
Fits perfectly into the OEM antenna base. I have a 2008 BMW Z4 E86. The texture and color is a really good match as well. Not sure about AM reception since this is mainly for AM but not too worried because I don’t listen to AM.
