Delicious and refined.
Warning: This is a long review. I am American and my husband is French normand. We live in the U.S. where fois gras is not allowed to be produced for animal rights reasons which we won't get into here.... I adore pâté de fois gras. When we are in the SW of France or Alsace we go to the outdoor farmers' markets and buy it to eat while there. At home we keep a couple of cans of this Rougié in our pantry for special occasions. Yes, it's pricey, like French champagne. So we have the 2 together only on birthdays, anniversaries, holidays-- for just the 2 of us.... This is DUCk and we think comparable to the same commercial (canned) product you would buy in France. (They do not ship outside Europe.)... I can't really say how it compares to the GOOSE fois gras my relatives prepare at home in France (for special occasions only!) but I can say last night for my birthday we savored this one!... The amount is a bit luxurious for 2 and could be stretched to 3 servings. We cut off both ends of the can and push it out and slice it into 4 slices, served on a small plate with a bit of bibb lettuce and some "toasts" as a first course. The toast should be thin and bland so as not to overtake the delicate taste of the fois gras-- such as the thin sliced white Pepperidge Farm bread. Last night we only had full flavored fresh bread from Wegman's so I ate my fois gras in tiny bites on a fork without bread. Mmmm... We highly recommend this product!

Very good!
This one will be a gift, so we haven’t had it yet, but precisely, since that person enjoyed it so much the first time that is why we bought it for him a second time.

Would give zero if I could
I have purchased Rougie products before and was well pleased. But the can of Foie Gras I received... it had soured and liquefied - it was unusable and stank up my entire house... huge waste of $$.

The best Foie gras
We tasted Foie gras many times at good restaurants, also we've eaten it in Quebec Canada recently, what I wanna say about this delicacy that it exactly the same quality as in Canadian restaurants. If you try it for the first time you would probably don't like it. The Foie gras is served with sour sweet sauce and buttery fried croutons/brushetta.I will definitely order it again. Thank you

Definitely not French…
This product was much inferior to the French canned foie gras that we also had the same evening.
