I enjoyed learning from this book, although I'm not very experienced with Python I'm a very experienced developer in other type safe and non type safe languages so I didn't find my lack of Python experience limiting as a lot of the concepts I already use and understood.That said I'd would have loved an end to end solution of a non trival application that would have shown how to apply what's taught in the book with perhaps how a larger app structure could look like.It's still a fantastic read as is, and I've learned a bunch about Python

It focuses so well on tools and practices that are crucial for creating performant, reliable, and maintainable software in Python.It not only shows how Python is constantly changing, but also why it is changing. It showcases recent Python language additions and describes modern ways of setting up repeatable and consistent development environments for Python programmers.The book can also be a good resource for hobbyists who are interested in learning advanced-level concepts with Python, as also for programmers with experience in other languages by explaining how to integrate code written in different languages in their Python application. There are many practical illustrations of design patterns, programming paradigms, and metaprogramming techniques.It covers tools that can be used to assess code quality metrics and improve code style in fully automated way, while showing how to scale simple observability practices to large-scale distributed systems.

I've spent a few days scanning through sections in this book, so this is my preliminary review of Packt's Expert Python Programming.I think it's fair to say that the book is highly appealing for me as a data scientist, where Python is my day-to-day language, and very readable. The content is indeed very useful and the writing style makes it easy to read. Not too verbose like other technical books. The software engineering/developer background of the authors definitely help with the writing style, which is highly appreciated!I'm sure I'll find hidden gems and handy tricks in the book as I continue to spend more time reading. I can strongly recommend this book as an advanced reference for Python users.

This is not a book for a beginner. If your Python skills are already intermediate level and you want to add to your understanding then this book has lots to offer. The style combines good programming practice with a tutorial style. It is well written and the authors are clearly experts in the field. The final chapters cover maintaining Python applications and has tips that many intermediate programmers will benefit from.

Great in-depth implementation details with many coding examples and importantly interesting read with continuity established to proceed each of next chapter..

All around theory and theory and looks like story book. Missing tech explanation where required.

One of most useless Python books I've read. Not a single interesting section or insightful example. More time was spent on typing the book than thinking about its content. Medium article quality material combined in a book with flashy title. I wonder about the glowing reviews praising the book.
