Good quick clamp for home use barbell
Wanted a quick releasing barbell clamp for my 1" barbell for home use. I am not sure how well these would be in a commercial or professional setting, however for my home use they are serving their purpose. The product is easy to use - a quick lift on the pressure release clamp and its slides on or off a 1" barbell. The clamp seems to hold the weights I am using in place - I have not tested with significant weights yet - maybe nothing more than 50-60 lbs on one side. These seem to work best on a smooth finished barbell verses a barbell with grooves (where you have a spin lock collar or screw clamp). On this type of set up it does seem to slip a bit more, however, I wanted to get away from a squeeze lock/clamp and spin lock clamp to be able to change out weight quicker between exercises.Again, for the home use I am using it for it works well and was at a good price point.

Great Clamps, Quick and Easy to Use
These clamps are great, and quick and easy to use. I don't understand the people giving these a bad review due to them not holding much weight. The item is described as a BARBELL clamp, not a dumbbell clamp. These are made for horizontal barbells, and that is the only thing you should be utilizing them for.I use them on both a solid ended barbell and a threaded ended barbell and they work on either. They do fit a bit more snug on the smooth, solid ended barbells, but they work on either.

It's funny how standard size bars aren't so standard...measure carefully
I measured my bars before purchasing and they range from 7/8" to 1 & 1/16". These collars fit on my curl bar, my threaded barbell, my 5' barbell, my threaded barbell, my threaded dumbells, and my 400lb capacity barbell. My 800 lb black oxide barbell is too big and they don't fit on that bar, but I have some plates that won't fit on that bar as well. I have no problem using these collars on any bar in the horizontal position. I don't think that I would use them on any bar in any other position like hammer curls or those over head triceps extensions where you hold on to the end of a dumbell, but then again, I wouldn't trust those collars that secure by screwing them into the bar (not the threaded bar type) either (which I have as shown in the pictures). Overall, for keeping weights from sliding off the end of a horizontal bar, these will do the job...if they fit on your bar.

Pretty convenient
Didn't know what to expect with these; I figured either some very cheap generic collars or something decent. I was pleased with the product's appearance, function, and feel when I first opened the package. They seem durable initially and appear to be better than I thought they'd be, quality wise. A big advantage of these is using them on a long bar, where otherwise you'd have to squeeze a collar and push/pull it long distances. I didn't notice anyone else selling these colored ones, so that is what attracted me to this specific item. I really like the red for a couple reasons; not as likely to get misplaced and blend in with other stuff that's black/dark, as well as being easier to quickly spot to confirm they are on the bar. The retention works well if your bar is actually 1 inch. I have one bar that is slightly under 1 inch and while these attach, you can tell it really isn't 100% secure. Overall I'm pleased with using them initially, and will update if they break.Update: I have used these off and on since 2016, at least one period for about a year straight and they still work fine. Not dropping bars or dangling stuff, just clamping weights for lifts where the bar stays horizontal and I've never had an issue. Again, just make sure it feels secure and your bar needs to be a true one inch.

Not very tight
I use this for my standard barbell that has spiral lock threads. They slide on well but sometimes get caught on the threads. The plastic seems ok. Could be sturdier. The inside have two rubber pads that huh the bar. For my case I just wanted them to put some resistance on the weight so they don’t move too much. It works. But as I use them the rubber pads get worn (3 weeks in) and it gets looser each time. When I got them one of the pads were off. I guess I could place something under the rubber pads to get them tighter. These don’t really have enough strength to hold the weights. The 25lb plate would wiggle out as I do a set of deadlifts. I would not use these for my dumbbells. I do have them on when benching and the weights are sliding off, but then again they don’t slide off when I have no locks on. I’m sure with a non threaded end it would work much better. These are easy to use. Snap off and slide out. Slide in and snap on. Beats turning the locking nut for 10 seconds as fast as I can.

Work great for me, but maybe take precautions at first
These fit great on my 1-inch standard non-threaded barbell bar, and haven't had any issues with anything slipping. Weights wobble a bit when I set it up for deadlift, but mostly because I don't push the plates flush against the stop on the bar. And since I'm not tilting the bar to extreme angles in either direction, I'm not putting too much pressure on the clamps. When unloading the last plate from the bar on the floor, I usually undo each clamp just to make sure there isn't any unnecessary pressure on the clamps.I'm guessing not all bars are created equal, and there may be some QA standards that are a bit off from bar to bar, so clamps may fit tighter or looser depending on the bar. But with a CAP non-threaded bar, they've been fine.If you feel uneasy about keeping a bar level, or using heavy plates on a barbell handle, maybe go a threaded route. Also, maybe don't use these on a threaded bar... use the collars that come with it. There's less surface for the clamps to grip on a threaded bar, so of course they'll be a little weaker.

Work as described!
I got these for a York spinlock barbell. Clamps fit very well and work great for their intended use. Would not use these for anything that requires the clip to take the full weight of the plates, but they certainly keep things in place otherwise.

Not a perfect fit on all 1" bars
I like this product and I have ordered more than one set, but of course they fit differently on every bar. Some are tighter/loser than others but ultimately they will close on all of my 1" bars.
