Review: Ten out of ten - This was a great read, hot and kinky sex and nice little story to boot. Sam was lovely, slutty but still an innocent in all things, and Mitch with his secret past and Randy who I didn't like but then it turns out he was a good guy after all. This was a great read as the last Heidi Cullinan was and I shall definitely read more. Also it went all the way to 99% which was a boon, no pages and pages of advertising like you get after some stories. A well written book, hot and hard in places and in others touchingly tender. Ten out of ten. Review: Special Delivery - M picks up S for what he thought was just a quick dirty encounter but turns into exploring kink cross country whilst driving a semi

Hot and tender
Well what's not to like Twenty year old Sam is miserable and his life is stuck on hold. Working for his sour puss aunt and paying to live in her basement is doing nothing for his self esteem, his so called love life sucks desperately, and its taking him forever to get through college part time. Madness strikes in the shape of one hot trucker, and the next thing you know he is off on a tour through the states discovering as much about himself as the wide open spaces of America. Loved it. Hot from beginning to end combined with a tender relationship that has its patches.

Mixed feelings
Firstly i loved both the main characters and their story. Reading that without Randy involvement would have been enough for me. Fortunately I read Randy's story Double Blind first or I wouldn't have gone any further as I really didn't like him or his behaviour in this book at all. I skimmed over some of the three some bits as too much for me. If you don't like twink domination themes this is not for you. Worth getting to see a deeper caring side of Randy in next book which I gave four stars.

So good I read it twice
This is one of those novels where if you describe the premise it can sound incredibly seedy, but it really isn't because of the sensitive way it's written. It's all told from the point of view of Sam, a twenty-one year old gay nursing student living with unsympathetic guardians in a small Iowa town. One day he has what he assumes to be a one-off sexual encounter with a delivery driver in the back of his truck, but when he accidentally leaves his phone behind, Mitch has a reason to contact him. After a few weeks and one more meeting to return his phone, Sam runs away with Mitch, offering him his body in return for the ride. At thirty-three, Mitch has a chequered past, most of which he doesn't want to share with Sam, but as he has a kink for domination and voyeurism and Sam is keen to submit, they are a good match. I will warn you now, there is a lot of sex in this book, much of it kinky and involving toys, bondage, public display and threesomes. However, it most certainly is not there purely to titillate - although it definitely will do so if you're into reading about that kind of thing - as this is a voyage of discovery for Sam and every sexual encounter brings the two men closer emotionally, despite Mitch's guilt over his past and Sam's low self-esteem. What I most loved about this novel was the character of Sam, whose sunny personality and innate sweetness was the perfect foil for Mitch's gruff and taciturn character. Both of them really came alive, as did Mitch's old friend Randy, and I'm so pleased to learn that Heidi has written more about these characters, with Double Blind delving more into Randy's life, and an upcoming novel planned to feature them all again. If you want a well written love story with plenty of kinky sex combined with a really sweet romance, then you can't go far wrong with Special Delivery. I loved it so much I've read it twice already!'

not good, not bad.
not a bad little book. totally not a patch on carry the ocean. and sadly the two books that follow Special delivery. Tough love and Double blind are dreadful. Will be very carefull before I buy any more of Heidi's books Are there two Heidi Cullinan? because Carry the Ocean is so good. and these three are so not good.

This book was awesome! If you're looking for a whole lot steamy but with a lot of love and tenderness thrown in then this is the book for you. Mitch is a beautiful hunk of a man who quite obviously needs someone to love who loves him and all his kinks. Luckily he finds just the right match with "Sunshine". Thanks for the gorgeous story!

This one is an absolute stunner. I thought Heidi Cullinan could not quite top what she pulled off in Nowhere Ranch, which followed two heart-wrenching novels in the Tucker Springs series (Dirty Laundry and, with Marie Sexton, Second hand). But this one carried me away just as Mitch Tedsoe carried Sam Keller away from his isolation in Middletown, Iowa, all the way to Las Vegas--and back in his magnificent semi, Blue. Special Delivery covers some familiar ground in that it's about a very experienced, very hot early 30s sexual bandit (Mitch) and a completely dominated, unconfident, scared 21-year-old (Sam) who fall into each other's path and take a journey that is part psychological, very much sexual, sometimes completely destructive, but always thrilling. The sex in here ranges from tender to some BDSM, though not violent. What separates this one from so many others is that Sam becomes one of the most endearing characters of his type, and Mitch and the mysterious Randy are without question a superior catalytic couple who manage to set Sam's world straight, so to speak, pun intended. Just finished it, still out of breath. Wow!

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS. Rating: 8/10 PROS: - Convincing whirlwind romance. There's good chemistry between the leads, and the author provides a detailed look at Sam's thoughts and does a good job of describing Mitch in such a way that it seems as though we're privy to his thoughts, as well. I especially like how protective Mitch is of Sam: they're both into sharing, but as soon as Sam gets uncomfortable with any situation, Mitch steps in and becomes very firm with outsiders. - Several likeable, realistic supporting characters. Mitch's friend and ex Randy is one example: I started out HATING him, but he turns out to be a really decent guy. - Unusual setting. Cullinan explores the world of truckers in a fair amount of depth without letting the story get bogged down by too many details. - Really satisfying ending. Incredibly sweet with a nice resolved feeling. CONS: - There are some hot sex scenes, but the thing that makes them unusual (in a good way) is just something I get a little squeamish about: Sam is a sub who enjoys humiliation. I certainly give Cullinan credit for exploring that facet of Sam's personality in a way that seems perfectly natural (for him), and to be fair, the humiliation scenes are never taken to an extreme. Still, that's an aspect of BDSM that I don't enjoy, regardless of how well it's written in the story. - One really nasty supporting character seems a little one-dimensional to me. I never quite understood WHY she was so nasty. Overall comments: The BDSM element here is fairly light, but the book explores a type of BDSM relationship that is rare in fiction (at least, I've never encountered it before), and I found that interesting. The writing is also smooth and fast-paced, and the characters are unique and well-developed.
