BBC Rick Stein's French Odyssey

Love this book mainly for the descriptions and photos of one of my favourite countries, France. Would love to do the same journey as Rick, going through France on a barge through the gorgeous countryside, stopping at little restaurants and bars for delicious food. I personally am not that fond of French food as I don't like meat or dairy but nevertheless, I often find myself reading this book and enjoying it!

This is not simply "the book of the TV series", but a complete standalone book in itself.I've already tried many of the recipes myself and found them easy to do. I can also attest to their authenticity as I've lived in France off and on for 20 years myself.The book is divided into sections, like snacks, fish, meat, desserts, etc. Read through each recipe thoroughly so you understand what is going on.I gave the book only four stars because I found the type size difficult to follow especially while cooking the dish at the same time. A larger font, and printing into the empty white space to the left of the text would have been a big improvement.

I have lots of cool books, but this one is the one I turn too every time! Simple to follow with awesome results!

Great cooking book, typical of Rick Stein, plenty of images which is good. A vast amount of recopies to get stuck into. Purchased a used from Awesome_Books_001. Described as very good, in fact it was perfect! But sadly had been damaged in transit, but this is not the fault of the seller. Damage was just on one corner.If you're a fan of Rick Stein, or French food, this is the book for you. Magnifique!

An excellently produced book, too good to use around the kitchen! However the recipes range through many recognisable dishes and instructions appear clear and understandable. I was fortunate to get a fine copy and it will be a treasure,even if I don't live long enough to try many of the recipes. Thoroughly recommended from all points of view! John
