This underlayment may in fact be the best I have ever used. I installed it under engineered hardwood flooring (floated) on the second floor (plywood), and was an ease to use. Rolls out nice and doesn't tear during installation. And the floor is quiet. The price is more than fair compared to similar products. Highly recommend.

I ordered this after reviewing the photos and descriptions but when I received it, it was not as thick as what I have currently underneath my flooring. What was installed was 1/8" thickness. This product is only 3mm thick which is just shy of the 1/8" and is too thin for what I needed! I had to return right away. Wouldn't work!

QuietWalk saved my floor from major disaster. Fourteen years ago I used QuietWalk under my finished floor I installed in my living room. Just recently I had a slow leak in the plumbing behind my frig. It seeped thru the wall separating the kitchen and living room. For some time, I didn't notice the small leak until a much larger second leak opened that I caught right away (FYI: If you have Quest Plumbing, replace it right away). After shutting off water I inspected for water damage and found that water had seeped thru the wall and into the living room under the floor. I pulled up the floor and found that the QuietWalk and underlayment absorbed all the water. The subfloor and finished floor were not affected. The QuietWalk vapor barrier did its job and the padding took up most all the water. All I had to replace was the QuietWalk and underlayment.I installed my floating floor 14 years ago in my downstairs (living room, great room, 2 bedrooms). The condition has not changed. Plus I can feel the difference between my floor and a solid wood. I'm very satisfied with my floating floor and the performance of QuietWalk. It's more than worth the investment.

I've been using quiet walk for years but I'm a little dissatisfied with quality control in this last batch that I've ordered. Be prepared to spend money on tape because the quality control on the adhesive strips is so far off the mark that the plastic that's supposed to adhere to them doesn't even come close. And not only are the adhesive strips place too far away for them to be functional, the ability to remove the top layer of the tape is also compromised. You need a thin razor or utility knife in order to lift off the tape protector or else you wind up removing the adhesive tape and all. Other than that quite walk is a very good product for underlayment between concrete and a waterproof laminate that's even got a backing.
