St James of London Cedarwood and Clarysage Shave Cream Jar, 150 ml

Amazing product!!!

This shaving cream delivers a great experience from start to finish. The cedarwood & clarysage scent is clean & subtle, masculine without being overpowering, and adds a nice touch to the morning routine. It only takes a small amount to create a rich, smooth lather that cushions well and allows the razor to glide easily. I found that a little goes a long way, which makes the jar last quite a while. It performs well and leaves the skin feeling clean & refreshed without any dryness or irritation. Overall, it is a quality product worth the price if you are looking for something a step above basic shave creams.

I've tried a lot of different shaving creams and soaps over the years, Crabtree & Evelyn soap, Taylor of Old Bond Street soap, L'Occitane en Provence Cade cream, but this time, one of my favorites, the Cade cream was out of stock and had been for some time, so I went looking for another. I found this St. James of London Cedarwood and Clarysage cream and I'm glad my previous cream was out of stock. I'll stick with this one for as long as I can. One thing I noticed, right away, is how concentrated this shave cream is. A very tiny dab at the end of a wet brush (perhaps a dime size dab if your using your hands instead of a brush) gave me great lasting lather, that also smells great and makes my skin feel good afterwards. I use Thayer's alcohol-free witch hazel as an after shave. I highly recommend this shave cream. Seems the Brits know how to make it best.

This is my new favorite shaving cream. It lathers easily into a thick foamy cream. The lubrication while shaving and the scent are both top notch. For background, I’ve been wet shaving for over 10 years. I’ve tried many of the English shaving creams, which are all great too. I’ve also used the sandalwood and bourbon scented shaving creams from the popular store that is in many malls here in the US. With the experience of using all those others, I was ready to try something new. The descriptions and other reviews of this one were attractive so I thought, “why not?“ It didn’t disappoint. In addition to everything stated, it comes in a beautiful jar, and a little shaving cream goes along way. This jar looks like it’s going to last quite a while.

I am 45 and I've been shaving since I was a teen, but when my hair started falling out in my early twenties I began shaving my head too. This cream provides nice thick lather on a badger hair brush that flows smoothly onto my face and head providing excellent glide and protection for my face while using my Merkur safety razor. The consistency of the cream isn't runny with proper water use, and about 3/4's a teaspoon goes a long way. The smell of the cedar in the cream is wonderful, but the other scents within the creams makeup provide a crisp clean scent and feeling that lasts throughout the day. Taylor of the Old Bond has some great products, but St. James is definitely a step up to being nearly in the same category of shaving creams by Castle Forbes and Truefitt & Hill without their prices. Great product.
