Theory and practice together
I can affirm that Construction Claims and Responses book is an essential resource in the construction industry. This book truly stands as an essential guide for those of us navigating the complex world of construction claims. Theory and practice examples are blended to provide a detailed roadmap for submission presentation and response. Moreover, having attended Hewitt's online "perfect claim intermediate e-course", I can confirm the consistency between the book and the course. The e-course served to enrich my understanding of the book's content, further elaborating on how to produce the perfect claim. The book's clear writing style and presentation make complex concepts readily accessible, whether you're a contract specialist or a delay analyst. The practical tools and techniques presented, informed by Hewitt's extensive industry experience, equip readers with the skills necessary to handle claim scenarios effectively.Overall, this book and the e-course are must-haves for professionals in the construction contract field, serving as critical tools in the successful navigation of construction claims.

The go-to book if you want to get a practical and rich perspective on construction claims.
This book was exactly what I needed when I was looking to refresh my practical knowledge on FIDIC based construction claims. It is easy to read for any public, and at the same time it does not compromise the technical rigour that every construction claims practitioner shall keep. Ortega y Gasset once said that simplicity is the courtesy of the wise man. As per this book Mr. Andy Hewitt undoubtedly proves to be wise. Also, the edition of the book is very good. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to get in touch for the first time with construction claims (especially those based in 1999 FIDIC Red Book) and even for those who are already experienced but need to refresh or structure in a concise way their knowledge on the field.

PRELIMINARY REVIEW ON "CONATRUCTION CLAIMS AND RESPONSES"
Review presented by Eng. E J Basil Jayasiri Perera, Sri LankaWhen I received this book by post, I was enlightened first by the handiness and pleasing appearance and the contents of the book recorded in the Content Page. Introduction of the Author - Andy Hewitt and the Forward written by Roger Knowles - a renowned claim & Contract consultant, build high confidence on the readers at the outset. The book has been written from the beginning to the end with simple language and commendable writing style. Before receiving this book, I had prepared and presented many construction claims during past number of years. Though they were accepted by clients without any adverse comment or remark, when the methodology and the style of suchpresentations shown in this book are considered, I have to accept my presentations were far below the standard.Commencing from Chapter 1 on Introduction and ending with Chapter 11 - A Note on Dispute Boards, Andy Hewitt has gifted us a marvelous publication, anybody dealing with claims to be studied and used as a valuable reference book.

Highly recommended.
A useful, practical and concise book, while still being detailed enough to clarify the many doubts that are presented to those of us who work with contracts and claims on a daily basis.Easy to read and understand even for non-native speakers, like me, of the English language.I am getting a lot of benefit from it as well as the fact of participating in one of the courses taught by Andy since, having a fluid exchange of opinions with a person with his knowledge and ability to transmit it, is invaluable.

Excellent book for claims practictioners
This is probably the only book in the market that deals with how an effective claims should be drafted and presented. I have had the first edition of it for 9 years and it helped me a lot in my career as contracts manager. I have recently purchased the latest edition as a kindle and it is great as well. I also recommend taking the E-Course Claims Class with Andy Hewitt (the Author of the book) because it is a very comprehensive course with regard to claims writing, presentation, and submission..

Know your CEES ( Cause, Effect, Entitlement and Substantiation) of Claims
Andy has written a great companion on construction claims. The concepts are easy to understand and assimilate and profoundly helpful in the preparation and submission of valid claims. This is a great source reference book as it fills the gap between practice and theory. Andy has taken a practical and hands on approach and his advice should be taken into consideration by everyone involved with claims. I do not hesitate to recommend this book!! Poorly submitted claims will be a thing of the past when you read this book!!
