The book is historical around the time when French took over Morocco
The book is tough to read with old English. But once I finished the book, I was glad I had read it. I read five books on Morocco, some easy to read, this was my favourite. I am giving it 4 starts becuase it is difficult to read, especially the first one third.

A very eye-opening book. Read it after spending three weeks in Morocco including several days in the Atlas. Some of the people in our small group and our Moroccan tour guide had read and recommended it. I wish I would have read it before the trip as it provides a lot of the relatively recent history and information about the culture that helps to put things in context.

Having recently traveled to Morocco where we visited Report, this book made fascinating reading! I probably would not have found it all that interesting had we not been there.
