Not only a Pressure Cooker, but a great Stock Pot
When I purchased my pressure cooker, I was quite the "novice". Like others, I had seen my grandmother use one when I was a child. . . but my mother was always very afraid of pressure cookers and warned me that I would "die" if I ever used one. Friends of my parents had one and cooked chili in it once, and it "exploded" and chili was everywhere. So I just never bothered. Then I came across this one. A couple of things I didn't know and learned after I received the item. First, you can only fill it from 50 - 60% full, depending upon what you're making. So if you're going to use the pressure cooker then though it says that it's a 6-quart, you can really only cook 3 - 4 quarts. But here's the really great thing that I learned, and I don't see this in the book or anything. It's not only a pressure cooker. . . It's a Stock Pot or electric pot. . . whatever you want to call it. I've made chicken stock in it, and filled it just about to the top with great results. I've made other soups, which don't need to really use the "pressure cooker" and they have turned-out great. Due to the fact that you can sear meat in it, that's wonderful. . .You can saute. . . you can simmer. . . With three different temperature settings, you can really cook lots of things inside. I made hot & sour soup today, which was fantastic! (no pressure cooking needed) I also like that it's non-stick, and you can easily remove the insert. I've also made chili, which turned-out really well. I cooked a whole chicken, and that also was great. I purchased a pressure cooker cookbook, just to get some more ideas. There certainly are "better" / "easier" ways to cook things other than using a pressure cooker, all depending upon the item. For example, I still prefer to use a steamer for veggies. But I think I'm going to get a lot more use out of this than I originally expected,

great product: shortens time: easy to use and clean up. Hard to find recipes for ELECTRIC PRESSURE COOKER
I think I'll really love this cooker! Only problem is that I oredered the 1200 PC. When it came it was the 600PD. I asked the company to credit my account for the amount - the 1200 PC was $99. The 600PC was $85 at that time. The company responded they were the same cooker. I don't really know the difference, but felt kind of like something wasn't right. I've used this cooker a couple times and it is fantastic. I first tried to buy it at Costco, but they apparently aren't carrying it any more. It works fine and though I had a lot of trepidation, I used it the first time and found it really great!

great job once figured out
took some time to figure out how to lock it - how to program it so it would work under pressure - after several tries and a consultation with my granddaughter, think i have it. directions quite poor, but once figured out, it is just great. browns, works under pressure keeps warm. have ribs in it as we speak - in the past they have fallen off the bone - it is also a guessing game for how long to put under pressure. have a pressure cooker cook book and am using this for a guide line. good for clean up - still struggle to get the lid on properly. if this were fixed and better directions and cooking times, it would be a five star

Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker
This is one of the best cooking appliances that I have ever purchased. It is extremely useful and works well for so many things. The only constraint is the size of the inner cook pot and the amount of food you can put in it. The results from recipes made in this electric pressure cooker are as good or better than cooking for hours in the oven or in a slow cooker. The ability to brown in this machine makes it very versatile and it can replace most other devices for cooking almost anything at a fraction of the time it would normally require. It is very easy to use and isn't difficult to clean. I purchased mine in 2012 and I use it alot. It is still working fine and has met my expectations in quality and performance. When this pressure cooker finally stops working, I will definitely buy another electric pressure cooker. I would probably choose the largest available model like an 8 qt. because I like to make a large batch and freeze the leftovers

Good product.
Bought this for my mom for Christmas and she loves it. It is a must for the working folks as it prepares meals that take several hours in minutes. It also makes cheaper cuts of meat that are normally tough really tender. In the summer you can cook roasts, chicken, etc without heating up the kitchen and because it cooks so quickly using steam it essentially saves energy. It is healthy too because it cooks with steam and eliminates frying and retains all the nutrients in the food. The menu guide on the machine takes a lot of the guess work and danger out of the equation....whereas the old pressure cookers were more difficult to use. Good product.

Almost too good to be true
Best invention EVER! I bought one a couple years ago and love it. I purchased this one for my daughter and she feels the same way. Cooking an entire delicious meal in less than 30 minutes is nothing short of amazing. The pressure infuses the spices into the meat. Sauces, stews and full cuts if meat come out tender and flavorful. All in a short period of time. It is also super easy to use. Every household should have one.
