What color is the actual bottle?

The inside rubber is white of course, but the fleece cover is a medium Gray. They are the very BEST hot water bottles ever. The cover is,very soft, and stays in place , never any wrinkles.

Can the cover be removed to be washed?

Yes, it's fleece and washes great. I roll in the sides of the hot water bottle in order for it to slide out of the the neck of the cover.
