It works, but you really have to crank it down to keep the bit from spinning. A handy item to have of course.

I like that I no longer have to use a pin vise to drill small holes.

In the first place, a comparable machinist's adapter chuck can cost over $200.00 and, I think, is only available with 1/2 inch shank. Tried to buy a used one on Ebay but I didn't want to use a heavy drill with 1/2" capacity as I am drilling 100's of holes. Keeping that in mind this thing is okay for most do-it-yourself at home work. The first problem came after I put the bit in the collet. I tightened the 1/8th shank in my drill chuck and, by hand, t;urned the chrome plated ring to tighten up the bit. I kept turning and turning but it didn't tighten up. Turned out that the 1/8th inch shank was slipping, not in my drill chuck but inside the adapter. I pulled out the shank with a vise grips and just chu;cked up the 3/8th inch, I'll call it shoulderin my drill. This worked fine except that when pushed in all the way the bit I was using was sticking out about 1" which is too much for a tiny bit, as it can easily bend and break. I then took apart the adapter and chucked up only the black shoulder part. Using another drill with a 1/16th inch bit I drilled through the shoulder so the tiny bit I was using could go all the way through the adapter. It is now sticking out about 3/8th inch and working fine. Already drilled over 100 holes and am taking a break to write this review.

This is such a handy item to have. Works great - if you get a good one! Despite the packaging claims of improved quality, I've had two of these that were junk. Similar to issues with cheap dremel collets, the slots in the Gyros were cut so poorly - off center and with burs all over. I bought one locally and then one here on Amazon and both were so far from acceptable that they had to be returned. A replacement from Amazon was fairly decent so I kept it. Still not cut quite exactly the but the runout is tolerable enough to make it worth keeping (some runout with such tiny bits is pretty normal even with the good bits). So inspect yours and chuck it up for a test upon arrival and be prepared to do a return. These are made in India.

Put my micro drills into the drill press, much more accurate and precise than using hand holding drill holders.

On first use I put the chuck in my Dremel tool and as soon as it spun up the out of balance caused the shaft to bend even more. Very dissatisfied with this item. UPDATE... The customer service people at GYROS contacted me and offered a refund or replacement. I requested a replacement and it seems to be just fine. The original did not fit properly in the packaging. The replacement fit perfectly.

Works well but occasionally loosens up with small (#76) drill bits. Small diameter head makes it easier to get into tight spaces.

It is well made.

Arrived as promised. Chuck not the smoothest operation but it is fine. Allows small bits to be used in devices other than a pin vice.

This adaptor chuck was smaller than i expected i failed to estimate its size when i ordered it but it will still be usefull for other purposes. I am satisfied with my purchase.

It works but not the clean quality in the picture. I would still buy another because the price works.
