Does the job, but practice required.
Neat idea using refraction and geometry to gauge the thickness and separation of the glass.Take a bit of practice to know what you should look at, but checked against a device which reaches to the exterior of the window, and the measurements were the same.

It takes practice
This does take some practice to use and the lighting needs to be good, once you understand it it's easy to measure the thickness of glass or double glazing. It is accurate in my experience. Have the instructions on the front is helpful but as I said it does take practice. Is it work £9.99 if you checking windows or glass all day it is. I would rather have this in my surveyor bag then not.

it is like a magic trick
This is an odd item; initial looking at it and trying to figure it out made no sense and was a bit of a puzzle. However, in use it works and works really well.Even if I try to explain, it'll still make no sense, but when you use it youself , the solution leaps at you like magic. To measure glass thickness. Hold the tool with instructions facing you. then place the angled edge against the glass. You are now looking into the space between the item and the glass. Looking at the glass you will see the reflection of the tool/inscriptions and the "Lines' . The base line is the long left-right one. You will see this reflected in the glass, it can be a bit faint dependant on ambient lighting. Now simply see which one of the short numbered lines sit on the faint baseline on the glass. That number is the glass thickness.Air gap measuring is equally quirky, but that side does at least have diagrams. Hold the item against the glass. This time you will see two reflections on top of each other forming that M shape shown on the tool. Read the airgap from the Mid point of the M.Not a tool you would use everyday, but given it is like a magic trick; well worth having.

NOT IMPRESSED
Not impressed at all, returned it for a refund. By tilting it you could make it read pretty much any thickness of air gap you wanted.

incredible
I got this to measure one glass I need to replace and there was no way to measure it but dismantling one small window or using this INCREDIBLE tool. It measures correctly 4mm fairly thick glass.I also got it out of curiosity - such a simple idea and works well, one needs few minutes to work out how to use it, after that measure to your hears content!

Useful tool
Used this to order new glass for my windows .Worked fine once you knew how to interpret the reading.
