Q: will this allow me to connect to play any audio from my android smartphone (eg. music from my spotify app) on my windows 10 pc speakers?

I play Amazon Prime music from my android phone to the NAXA Bluetooth device that is plugged into the CD player hooked into my home theater system. These components are relatively old, but it works like a charm.

Q: (2011 G37x non nav) when I plugged it in and paired my phone, on the car screen is says device not readable. Anyone know why?

Try plugging it in to the USB port inside of your console. That is the only way I could get mine to work.

Not sure, it does connect to my phone thru my car bluetooth

Works in my 2011 G37 Sedan Journey(Bose Non GPS). Hope that helps.
