Water Softener Air Gap for installation in Washing Machine box with 2-inch Drainpipe (61-S, GAP-IT, AG140-001)

This is a great item and solved our problem of where to drain our water softener. This made it super easy and works great. The biggest challenge for us was the plastic box that was already in place for the washing machine water lines and drain line. We had to cut away plastic on that box to get to the actual drain line. It would not fit without doing this. Definitely worth the little bit of effort to do vs trying to run a drain line and tie it in somewhere else. I highly recommend this product.

This worked very easily inside laundry room wall box. It comes in 2 pieces so it’s easy to install. Fits together properly and can be customized to how ever you need to make your connections with easily attained local parts.

I went to Lowe's and Home Depot to find a part or fitting for the top of the air gap. There is no solid water tight option to put on top. The only place that is "water tight" is where the rubber gasket is at and it is not tight. It is loose. I wonder if it gets loose with pressure. I have contacted the seller on amazon, on their website (in California) and no luck! I'm going to have to go another route for an air gap to install my water softener.

I was really unsure of how I was going to install my water softener but this item allowed me to get the drain line hooked up in a code-compliant, safe manner. It's been several months and it's working great. I had to butcher my existing laundry wall box a bit to be able to insert this into the PVC pipe directly but that's a small price to pay for the convenience of not having to open up the wall or run a whole new section of 2" PVC drain. I actually have the washer and a condensate pump drain going into the larger bottom opening and the softener drain line into the air-gap.

NOTE: I DID purchase this from Amazon; nor sure why this post isn't labeled "verified purchase"...Perfect fit in a tight recessed laundry plumbing box with a valve BETWEEN the hot/cold stubs. Had discussed with vendor prior to purchase, who was very helpful. Am extremely pleased with the result. Laundry discharge tube sits perfectly in this setup. Other brands shown on this page did not fit and will be returned to Lowe's. Totally worth the extra few dollars, especially considering the overall cost of materials in my water softener installation. Expect little if any splash, especially after watching their videos. Makes for a very clean looking set up.

Works great and at a great price! Only problem I had was that the washer drain hose opening wasn't big enough to fit the drain hose I currently had. Luckily I was upgrading to a new washer and dryer and the new washer's hose end was thinner and fit perfect!

I didn’t have a drain for my whole home water filter. Ordered this and ran pvc to my laundry room and I bam I got a drain. So glad I found this and super simple to install

Fits well and allows washing machine to drain without issue. Not a lot of room on top. If they had this with a 90° fitting I would give 5 stars.
