Very reliable!!! Never knew it was there.
Traveled over 1,000 miles and never even knew this thing was attached. I did add a stabilizer kit for 15$. Was easy to take off once we reached our destination and then put back on to head home. Love it. Held 5 large suitcases easily along with a few other bags and a tool kit. We laid a black tarp down inside first and then put in all of our luggage, folded the tarp over and tucked in the sides and covered with a small cargo net (got on amazon, stretch distance between ropes was 3inches) that we hooked to the it with carabiner hooks. I mean- we had no trouble what so ever. It was an awesome trip, with lots of comfort and leg room for everyone. My vehicle is a 2016 GMC Yukon. Once installed you cannot open the entire back door, but can open the window for access easily. I LOVE this thing. We incurred rain during our drive and still no problems. I am not seeing rust as some other reviews read. Thinking that may be because of where or how they have stored it, but just guessing. I currently have it in an outside storage room and it still looks great. Although my son did most of the work, I could easily install this myself. It is a little heavy, but once you pick it up and insert it in the hitch, the hard work is done. I also bought a locking pin, instead of a regular one, there is NO pin included and I added some reflectors, although you don't necessarily need them. Overall this thing is Totally worth every dollar paid. These are the items that I added - all bought on Amazon. Good for what I paid for
Giving it 5 stars for now. Considering what I paid for it, it was what I expected. Took about 10 minutes to put it together. What you need to keep in mind with this is depending on your vehicle your exhaust might be blowing back on this, so you will need to deal with that by either fabricating a heat shield, or getting a hitch riser. I actually went to home depot and purchased 2 pieces of sheet metal and then said to hell with it and took them back and got the riser. It was cheaper and fixed the other thing that was bothering me, distance to the ground. I didn't want to worry about pulling out of a parking lot and having this drag/potentially break if the angle was too much. So will give an update after my trip on how it faired. Also if you purchase this, make sure you get a hitch stabilizer/tightener. Depending on your car any minor clink is going to travel up your frame and sound like bad stuff is happening back there. Plus the stabilizer will extend the life of everything. Things banging around never lead to something positive in life. Build quality on this is about what I expected, it is light weight, if it fairs well I will update the paint job to ensure I get more life out of it.Update: I have used this 2 times for trips to Florida and it has performed great. I keep it in the garage when not in use and still looks brand new.

Efficient & convenient hauling!
So, the hubby just had his knee replaced which means I will be hauling trash to the dump myself this winter. Instead of hitching up the heavy, cumbersome, sometimes snow-filled utility trailer, I decided a hitch carrier would be more efficient & easier (work smarter not harder & all that).I had first purchased a similar one that did not have sides. It was a bit wider and could accommodate 2 large trash cans, but securing them was going to require several ratchet tie down straps for transport. That would run counterproductive to the whole ease-of-use goal. So, in looking for a solution, I found this one. Loved how easy the sides would make filling it with trash bags now (& securing boogie boards with bungees in summer) and also that it could be easily converted for use without the sides for extra versatility. After reading reviews of other carriers, I was worried about how beat up the product would be upon arrival. However, the packaging was fantastic - box within a box, great thick support inside to prevent crushing of components, plus layers of protection between each piece. This thing arrived pristine & perfectly packaged!Easy to put together - took me about 20-30 mins - holes aligned perfectly, easy instructions. No complaints. Light enough that I could move by myself but enlisted the help of my teen daughter & it was really a breeze! The only loss of a star is just because it is a bit narrow - not deep enough to accommodate my trash cans and a little more space is lost because of the way the sides are designed. Just a couple extra inches would have made this absolutely perfect! But I will either find smaller cans or just keep hauling just the bags. Want to use to haul recyclables out to the street as well, will definitely need to work that out (ah, life in the sticks). On the Wrangler there is enough room to clear my standard spare in the rear without the need for an extender. It looks sharp & the guy at the dump actually complimented me on how nice it was (and you figure he sees a lot of these)! My only dilemna now will be finding more uses for this after hubby's knee heals - it's too awesome not to keep using!

It is a solid unit.
I purchased this cargo carrier for my van. I wanted it to hold a rather large generator. I found the carrier to be made pretty sturdy for today's standards. It went together easy enough and has been on my van since June 10th. I loaded the generator and bolted it to the frame and tested it for about 2 weeks. The carrier works great and is pretty light weight considering it's size. I really can't complain about any one part of this carrier. I would by another one without hesitation. It holds my 100lb generator bolted to the frame, I am totally satisfied.
