The Spy Who Came In From the Co-op: Melita Norwood and the Ending of Cold War Espionage

INTERESTING READ
Whilst the book tells a fascinating story about Russians spies in the UK from before WW! there is very little about Melita Norwood. A few references as the book gains momentum but she doesn't really feature until the last quarter. Hence the three stars.

A lot about the Lawn Road flats, not so ...
A lot about the Lawn Road flats, not so much about Melita, very interesting about the link with Red Sonia. The actual content of the stuff she sent to the Russians is still unknown, but would have attracted a long sentence at the time, and should have done then. Se was a very competent spy, hence little is known what she actually did, hence the comment that she was not a big one, quite the opposite: the quiet ones are the most risky.

The Spy Who Came in from the Co-op
An extremely well balanced story of this charming dedicated woman. Also interesting because of the questions it raises about MI5 that even Andrew fails to answer in his recent history.
