I bought this for a summer trip to Korea and it’s been a reliable travel companion. It’s a little heavier than I expected, but the trade-off is that it feels very sturdy and doesn’t bend or flip in the wind the way cheaper umbrellas do. The UPF 50+ rating gives extra peace of mind on sunny days, and it definitely helps keep me cooler when walking around. I also appreciate that it comes with its own case, which makes it easy to slip into a backpack or tote without getting everything else wet. Overall, a solid choice if you want an umbrella that works well for both sun and light rain.

I read every single review on UV protection travel umbrellas and I landed on this one for a trip to Mexico where it was 90-100 degrees everyday. I took this everywhere and used it all the time. I'm positive it saved me from sunburns but I also was more comfortable under shade. My friends were dripping sweat from their brows and I wasn't. Light enough to not think twice about throwing it in my bag everyday. I didn't use it in wind or rain. Opening it is easy. But, like some reviewers said, compressing it back into it's folded form takes a bit of effort. Not the worst but not a delight to fold up. Still completely worth it. Highly recommend for skin protection and high heat sun exposure.

I was looking for a compact UV umbrella to replace one I bought abroad and loved but subsequently lost. This one is perfect. It is small, light, and could fit in a large front shorts pocket sticking out a bit. It is made for one person. So if you’re looking for an umbrella that covers more than just yourself, move on. I’ve used it daily for my walks in the islands and it is sturdy and provides UV shade from the sun, which cuts the heat you would feel without it. So at minimum it provides a couple degrees cooler temps under it, if not more. It is not for use in windy weather. It will flip inside out. So don’t plan on using it in windy locations/circumstances. One positive, though, when it flips inside out from wind or otherwise, you just press the open/close button and it collapses itself back to its “ready to close” position. This possibly takes the pressure off from needing to force flip it right side up over and over again, which is good. It would keep the rain off your head but that’s about it. But again, I bought it to keep me cool during my daily walks in hot sunny conditions. I use it on cloudy days as well, to keep the UV rays off me. In all, it’s perfect to use on sunny days for walks to cut the heat. It would help in a sudden downpour or steady light drizzle to keep your head dry. If you’re looking for an umbrella for the same reasons as me, this is the one. I will update my review if the umbrella breaks or deteriorates significantly.

This umbrella was very helpful while I was in the Philippines. It gave great protection from the sun during the hottest parts of the day and stayed open during stronger winds. The reason I will only be giving this product 4 stars is due to the fact that it can be difficult to close, requiring that you push hard on the top of the umbrella to activate the mechanism that holds it in place when it is wrapped up. Lastly, the silver color on the top of umbrella seems to have rubbed off on parts of it due to my heavy use. Its more evident on the cover for the umbrella that you use when you stow it away so be sure to use it when you are not actively using the umbrella.

I just received my umbrella and put it to test by holding it up against a large window where the sun was directly glaring into it. I opened it up and placed the umbrella fabric a few inches away from the glass. I was pleasantly surprised to see that no sun came through the fabric. I then held it up to the window where half the umbrella was in direct sunlight and the other half protected by the adjoining wall. There was absolutely no difference. I couldn't see any light coming through on either half. The instructions are on the hang tag attached to the handle. I like that the umbrella closes up by pushing the button in the same way one presses it to open it up. The only difference is that you have to the push the stem down towards the handle to latch it closed. It was easy enough to do and better than the complete manual process of less quality ones I have owned in the past. Once it latched, I gently pulled out the folds and was able to return it to the same neat way it arrived with the attached velcro strap. The sleeve is nice in that the closed umbrella slides easily into it and fits nicely. No skimping on the fabric and struggling to get it back in like another one I used own. The only improvement I would make might be a snap to keep the sleeve in place, but that isn't a deal breaker by any means. Highly recommend. All in all, this is a product I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to protect themselves from the sun during this record breaking summer heat. I will be buying another one of the same in different colors to share with family.

I used this in the 110+ degree weather in Arizona and New Mexico. It felt like the heat was being reflected instead of absorbed as it would be when using a normal umbrella. It is small allowing for easy carry by hand or in a sling bag. The build seems good during the summer heat but, it might not be sturdy enough when it gets very windy and rains hard. I will be purchasing another though when they are back in stock.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM You would expect a UV resistant umbrella to actually STOP the sun from punching through the material but no, this umbrella barely stops the sun from getting through and hitting you. What's this mean for you? It means you're gonna get hotter underneath and damage your skin when you thought you otherwise might have protection. And I personally own umbrellas that are perfectly capable of blocking out most if not all of the sun, and they are MUCH cooler underneath. DO NOT BOTHER with this umbrella. Do better research and find something else.

I have recently purchased this umbrella to block the sun on my way to work. I can see the following: 9/10 for sun blocking as advertised. 6/10 for windy weather. It was not very sturdy against wind. 9/10 opening/closing mechanism. I had no problems regarding that. 10/10 in size as it was very suitable to me. I have given it 9 as I did not try it in 40+ degrees sun yet. I suggest you use it during the summer or at the beach.
