I opted for this version instead of the KitchenAid one because it's made of metal, not plastic. It's sturdy and goes in the dishwasher. I use it all the time. I shred cheese with it, and recently, Brussels sprouts. It is far easier to clean than my Cuisinart, which I used to use for these purposes. I still love my Cuisinart, but this has earned a rightful place in my kitchen.

I absolutely love this tool! I have gone through 2 KitchenAid brand sets because the plastic always busts on it. I decided to try this one when it was time to replace it a third time. It attaches the same way, It is a little smaller, which I think is good because it works better. Easier to clean and dishwasher safe, though I don’t recommend it when used with cheese because the cheese just melts to it in the dishwasher.

This replaced my food processor shredder, and 3 different nonmechanical shredders and slicers. It has less parts to clean and is easy to assemble and use, and is my go to for any shredded or slicing. The steel design will hold up to the household use and garden harvest. The only down side is that the intake tube is 1/2 the size of a standard food processor meaning more prep time, and the gap between the actual shredder or slicer (which is necessary for the unit to function properly) and the main unit allows for food to get pulled in and packed in all spaces around the moving shredder or slicer. Including behind the gear. This can cause food waste issues with unshredded or sliced food, but was also a issue for food processors, and the manual shredders and slicers. Softer food items like cheese can just be curmbled once the unshredded portion is removed from the powered off unit. But items like potatoes, expect a little more unshredded portions that will have to be hand grated.

Love this product! Super easy to use. Saves so much time cutting up veggies and shredding cheese.

A little small but does the job.

The overall quality is fine for the price. It works OK for shredded cabbage and carrots. It gets the job done for cheese. The attachment for grinding garlic, and ginger works marginally at best. Housing and attachments are a very thin gauge stainless and flimsy overall. I think it’ll be fine for occasional use but if you’re heavy user splurge for the brand name.

I LOVE these little attachments, they make cooking/prepping meals for the holidays SO convenient ESPECIALLY grading cheese!
