RSL 13 Plus Books: 13+ Comprehension - Practice English Papers & Detailed Answers

Excellent, I wish there were more study book like this out there.

I have bought a lot of papers and books to help my children with and by far and away the Robert Lomax papers have been the most useful for English. As a parent it is hard to get into the mindset of how to help and what to say, so many of us leave it to teachers and tutoring, but you are missing out on a huge ability to help your child yourself and bring you closer to them and their learning journey.These papers with their methods, answers and guidance do exactly that, allowing you to participate in the process of helping your children and being able to see clearly yourself methods and techniques that you have long forgotten and that will be expected of them in exams.I cannot recommend highly enough Robert Lomax's papers and also his visionary and modern approach to learning supported by videos, blogs and online guidance.They are not the cheapest, but once you receive them and work with them you understand why because they are carefully considered papers that offer you more than you will get from any standard publishing 11+ and 13+ study books. Worth every penny.

With entrance exams into a highly-selective independent school looming on the horizon, we bought this product to help our daughter prepare. We would be preparing her ourselves, not using a tutor, so the materials we used were extremely important to us.We started off with the 11+ book and then used this one to stretch our daughter further.What really makes it, for us, is the amount of detail in the answers. It showed us how we could help our daughter prepare better. It wasn't just about given us *an* answer, but why each one was a *good* answer. It meant that our daughter was really learning as she went along, not just totting up a running total of exercises completed. It was real learning, not just boxes ticked.It helped us understand better what an examiner would be looking for, so how to finetune answers accordingly.It has been a great resource that I would thoroughly recommend.

I bought the previous (11 +)ones and loved it , now since all the 11+ madness is over, I bought 13+ to start warming up for the GCSE , it's great because it has poems - something my daughter always struggled to interpret /infer , but R.Lomax papers make it very clear , the explanations are the best I ever came across! I bought other books "teaching" how to interpret poems but none of them were any good, it just said obvious things and never gave a proper answer .These ones give step by step and teaches the points you can get in the exams.Perfect!

There is no doubt that Robert Lomax is an expert in what he does. His resources are brilliant and we’re very grateful to have used his books and as a result. Improved the confidence of both my daughters when they were preparing for their 11+ exams resulting in them being awarded a place in their grammar school of choice. This book was used to fill in the gaps for my daughter. Very helpful indeed.

I got this book for extra practise for my child in year 8 . The passages are very interesting yet challenging . The questions do force her to read carefully and infer quite a lot . The answers provided are detailed with very useful tips on how to impress the examiner . Very happy with the comprehension book even though it is a bit pricey but as they say you get what you pay for !

Excellent! The best on the market - yes, this is pricey, but unlike other comprehension books in the 13+ market, these actually help you learn the techniques to write a better answer. I would buy more of these if they were available - hope they produce more!

I bought this book for my child to prepare for his ks4 exams. This book is the perfect resource for pupils working towards ks4 and also for the entrance exams at 13+. The book offers tips and information about how they can improve their comprehension skills. Excellent material with great questions and precise answers.Strongly recommend this book for KS4 and 13+ entrance preparation.
