As my relatives take turn watching my great-grandmother this has been perfect allowing people to step outside the house without having to worry about her taking a slip while we're outside caring for the garden she loves or tidying up her front porch. The setup was a little more difficult when it came to changing the tune. It says you have 8 seconds but I found you barely had one though it was still completely doable. It has a great volume. I've dropped the pager a few times and it still works perfectly. Though I haven't quite tested the 500 ft, I haven't had any issues after being a good distance from her House. One of my favorite things about this is the many different tunes! I personally went with under the sea. When Christmas rolls around we'll be able to set it to Christmas tones. I looked at other pager/receivers and decided on this one for two reasons:1) Many reviewers said that the pager was able to transmit its signal to the receiver, whether the portable one or the one that plugs into the wall, anywhere in the house even outside. 2) This particular pager uses a 12volt battery while the other pager/receiver I was considering only used two 3volt batteries which means the pager only has 6volts of power to transmit a signal to the receiver.I am very happy with my purchase. I was able to test this pager/receiver throughout the house and to the furthest areas of the front and back yards, and it worked. We have walls and room additions, and the pager was able to transmit a signal to the receiver every time even with doors shut. I really think this product is great for my aging parents and its simple to use right out of the box.The pager is not too big or bulky. My mom wears it all day, every day, and says she even forgets that she's wearing it because it is light. Not at all cumbersome.The batteries work just fine even after all the testing we did. It's just a great product.

The system works great and is extremely helpful for my grandmother who is on hospice. I only wish the belt clip on the pager was more durable… the clip is made from flimsy plastic and broke after just 3 weeks. Might be a good idea to include a spare clip for replacement or increase the quality of the clip, possibly metal rather than plastic? Overall very satisfied with the purchase.

I've had the one receiver + one call button on a lanyard + one door.bell.looking button + one pager configuration option for over a month now & L-O-V-E it. My person who needs occasional assistance feels more secure, they have a back.up button stationary in their bathroom if they rush to the bathroom & forget the lanyard call button. The pager enables me to attend to other tasks further away (backyard, out in driveway or in detached garage) without wondering if I won't hear a call for help. The receiver is plugged in an outlet in my bedroom and has volume adjustment & flashes light so I no longer worry about sleeping through a call for assistance when I get a bit too stretched & tired. Would recommend to anybody who is watching over a loved one during a short-term recovery, or hasn't had to make the decision for housing for long-term yet, or intends to support healthy, functional independence for both parties during multi-month treatment.
