Excellent
Excellent storyline and even better life like characters, I love Lisa Jackson books, well written and kept me glued till the last page.

good characters
Shelby Cole returns to Bad Luck, Texas after receiving a photograph of her now 10 year old daughter who she believed had died at birth. There she must not only confront her dictatorial father - the judge, but also the man who broke her heart Nevada Smith.Characterisation good with some well written sexy scenes; lots happening within this small town but it's easy to keep track of the characters. I hung everybody - except the right person a nice twist. However, although the characters were well drawn and the plot complex enough to be entertaining I was a little disappointed at the ending. Suddenly these very strong characters just seemed to shrink before your eyes. Then the book was over. The wrapping was excellent but I was not so keen on the ribbon and bow that finished it off.

Not as good as her others.
Not nearly as good as her other novels, no real suspense. The characters were just okay. The hero Neveda, seemed rather distant and just took in his stride that the love of his life had been raped. Also the name Nevada Smith is taked from a Steve McQueen film, and the town Blanco County is from The Big Country, I'd have thought an author of Jackson's calibre could think of her own names.

Not a favourite
I think I read this book over twenty years ago and bought it for nostalgia, but my tastes must have changed as the writing style is no longer to my taste. The storyline did have promise but as it progressed it became dull and pedestrian. The characters were devoid of any personality, they had no depth and I can't say that I particularly liked any of them. I didn't dislike them they were just bland. I skipped through to the end and even that felt flat.I was also irritated by the layout on my reader, paragraphs were not separated as in a paperback but merged together in places which was confusing. One moment you would be in one location with a character and in the next sentence you would be in a different place with a different topic.I can see this book is a favourite with other reviewers but it really wasn't a good read for me.

Very Great Story
I discovered Lisa Jackson years ago and I read this novel the first time it was printed. Beware, this is not a new story, but a re-print of one of her older novels. I knew this when I bought it, but I purchased it anyway as I loved it then and I love it now. Sometimes re-visiting an old novel is like seeing an old friend again. The story was great! There was plenty of suspense and believe it or not I could not remember who the killer was! The romance was great too and I loved the character Navada. Lisa's story telling has changed over the years and her newer novels seem to involve more mystery and suspense, with less romance than her older novels possessed. Oh, but this is not a complaint! Her new novels are great also, but there are times I miss the sexier men she used to write about. So I find myself returning to re-visit time and time again.I would reccommend this novel to anyone who loves to read romantic suspense! She won't let you down!!!

Interesting Read
This book was quite a good read in terms of character building and keeping things hopping making you need to know more and see it through to the end. However, I am unsure of how I feel now that I have finished, with some of the aspects of this book and what it revealed in the end. It was kept simple enough to follow the lines easily, interesting enough to keep reading, but the ending just didn't quite come together as well as I might have chosen. Hard to explain without spoiling the book. Also, unless I missed something, there is one pretty big aspect, towards the end of the book, that was introduced but then never brought to full light. In trying to figure this out there's been nothing written in any spoiler site about it so 🤷. I guess you will have to read it and find out for yourself!

Good plot but left some holes
It was a good story line and kept me interested until the end. However, unless I missed it, they just left the part where he might be her half brother hanging. I would like to know so I will go back and read it again.

Lisa Jackson books
I bought 8 books of Lisa Jackson. My granddaughter was so excited and had a hard time figuring out which one to read first.

Unspoken
Well girl, you certainly can write about sex and passion! Some of it, I skipped through, but I certainly got the gist of what was going on. I really got some surprises, with the twists and turns the story took! Very interesting! Will read the next one,
