Good but not much of a fish sauce taste I’m used to
This is the very first time I tried Korean Fish Sauce, I have been using fish sauce for 40+ years and have learned the kind I wanted since then.This is a bit overpriced I think for being a small bottle compared to the one I usually buy. The fish sauce is clear so I have the impression that this will be really good. My grandma always says that the purest fish sauce must have a clear look on it and this one does BUT the taste is missing. The fish sauce taste is just ok, if you’re looking for the sweet umami kind of fish sauce you will like this one coz this is not salty and have that sweetness taste on it - not my kind that’s why I omit a star on my review (plus the price of course). I like my fish sauce to have clear look but stronger fish taste BUT without the strong fish sauce smell. The closest one I could find in the market is THREE CRABS BRAND Pink Bottle. I use fish sauce in every meal I make and I cook 3x a day, may not be the fish sauce expert but I know the taste I wanted that gives my dish that special taste. Will I buy again? No, I will stick to the one I prefer the taste.

Solid and savory; not top dollar but from a known brand
O'Food is a known Korean brand, and when I've tried their products they've normally been solid. This black anchovy sauce is no exception. While not necessarily top dollar, it still delivers on taste and is great seasoning for broths, sauces, stir frys, you name it. Really goes well with any asian cooking or fusion if you want to experiment. Like any fish sauce it is high in salt. I would recommend it.

Salty, but really brings the flavor
This is thin like soy sauce, and it's also brown. It's very salty, but it really deepens and makes a flavor profile more complex. It's much easier to use than anchovy paste. I use it in place of fish sauce, which my family does not like the smell of. This smells different, and isn't unpleasant in the least. I use it in a lot of my Oriental beef dishes in particular. It's great in a good homemade ramen! It comes well sealed with an outer plastic seal, and an inner tab that has to be pulled off to access the contents. I would buy this product again, and keep it as a staple.

RIch umami flavor without the fishy taste
This fish sauce is amazing. I have been using fish sauce as a flavor enhancer in many Asian recipes. This one is noticeably better. It has a richer umami flavor with a subtle hint of citrus to it. It is also much less fishy than the regular fish sauces that I have tried. It works wonder in my favorite Thai peanut dipping sauce recipe. It adds a robust umami flavor without the fishiness to it.This comes in a small glass bottle with a flip-top cap wrapped with plastic for protection. Mine has a best before date of about 7 months from now. The ingredient list is simple and the quality seems great. No added MSG or artificial colors. Gluten-free. Made in South Korea. Recommended.

Smells like hell, tastes like heaven.
Very nice anchovy sauce - have actually used it in general cooking, not just Korean recipes. Anchovy paste is basically anchovies, salt, oil and sometimes sugar smushed together. That's it. Pretty simple but oh my what a layer of flavor it can add to just about any dish. It can provide umami to a whatever you are preparing. It's not as fishy in flavor as fish sauce, but it can be salties are stronger in umami taste, so use it sparingly. The main obvious difference between the two is consistency. Anchovy paste is thick and creamy, like miso paste, whereas fish sauce is a liquidy and runny sauce. Some uses of anchovy paste include its use as a condiment or ingredient in egg dishes and on toast. It can be used as an ingredient in some hors d'oeuvre.
