These are great additions to my gate. 12’ steel gates from tractor supply meet in the middle for a 24’ wide drive. I couldn’t put a support in the middle to keep them from bowing in so I was stacking wood blocks under the gate. That got tiering real quick chasing blocks around every time. Now I have these and they support themselves, roll open, and the casters provide enough force to keep them from swinging around in the wind when I want to leave the gate open. My only suggesion is to preload the springs by drill and installing these with the spring pushed down almost all the way, maybe an inch or so left of travel, if not the spring is too weak.

Very sturdy and rolls well on uneven ground. I am a 73 year old woman and installed it myself on a metal cattle gate with a few tools. Highly recommend to make life easier.

Advertised wrong. This is advertised as a 65lb spring (125lb max load but that doesn't matter for setting it up). The spring is barely preloaded (only a couple of pounds) and full compression load is only about 25lbs. when the spring is almost a solid stack. The spring rate, stacked load, or what really matters the mid stroke load are nowhere near 65 lbs. This will only work as it is supposed to with about a 15lb load. You I was able to make it work for me by creating a shim to place under the spring and increase the preload to what I needed.

My husband has been going to fix our horrible gate that drags on the ground, for about 15 years. I bought this wonderful little caster and in the span of about 5 minutes I installed it! Presto!!!! Perfect gate! Next, onto cutting down that pesky Oak tree!

Will NOT rotate 360 degrees when installed. They constantly bind against the gate. In the right application they would work well but can't be mounted against a gate, they must be below the bottom edge to allow full rotation. Definitely sturdy.

Works great, simple install, keeps my gate level and easy to open.!
