Vivitek 5811116206-S 230-Watt Replacement Lamp for H1080, H1081, H1082 and H1085

Bought two bulbs. Neither bulb appear to be OEM and are not using Osram bulbs so not sure how they get away with using the exact same part number as the OEM bulb. The first bulb was noticeably dimmer than the 3800+ hour bulb it replaced and it lit the screen unevenly such that the left side of the screen was much darker than the right. See the image where you can see the time one the left side of the menu (8:30pm) is much dimmer than the time on the right side of the menu (10:00pm). The second bulb was brighter and evenly light, but I'm not convinced it was any brighter than the OEM/Osram bulb it just replaced (again with 3800+ hours). I think I'll keep one as a spare while I shop for an OEM bulb.

This was the 2nd replacement bulb I purchased from ExclusiveBulbs. They have very nice customer service folks, but the product quality is terrible. Original projector lamp worked for 3 years. The first bulb died within a month, after getting a replacement,the second died in few months. I thought if I buy a more expensive replacement it will last, but the third replacement lasted 5 months with less than 100 hours of use and it costed me more than the price of a new projector. Warranty information is not clear from the seller. Vivitek website shows 1 year warranty on replacement bulbs. What gives. I expected atleast 1000 hours with the replacement unit.

Bulb appears to provide a picture no brighter than the 5 year old bulb I replaced. Not sure why the picture is not as clear or bright as when the original bulb was new. Possibly the quality of this replacement bulb is inferior to the OEM. It cost less than others so maybe in this instance you get what you pay for.

This was not an original bulb. I returned this bulb twice to the seller, and purchased this bulb from a different company. The bulb from the new company works perfect.

Just purchased on dec 28 used for less than 50 hours and it’s dead.
