Disappointing
Nice book to own and hold but to be honest with only 50 pages of large text I’ve read longer magazine articles. Practically no input from Mike himself and not that many interesting photos (most are irrelevant nature pictures.) Glad I didn’t pay full price for it. It does look good beside my Mike Oldfield record collection but overall a little disappointed.

This is a new edition of a book published some years ago (in a smaller, hardback edition), and I am enjoying reading it again - this time in LP-sized soft-cover format. Told via extensive interview excerpts conducted with Oldfield, and especially Tom Newman, Simon Heyworth and Phil Newell, there is insight into life at 'The Manor' studio during the 1972-3 period of the foundation of Virgin Records.

Great!
Interesting book about the creation of one of the best musical works of the last century. A lot of photographs, a nice format, a must have for Mike's fans.
