Depends on how much you use. I spread about a 1" layer on with mulch and other soil amendments and stirred it in with a spud fork.

I haven't tried that but it sounds good. I may try it.

I am not positive, it doesn’t say. But I strongly believe that it is hardwood. Sorry.

Packaging was very cheap and ripped in shipping.

Everything that was packaged with this item was covered in biochar because the packaging was inferior and ripped open during shipping. It completely ruined the book that was shipped with it. I would expect a product of this type to be packaged in heavyweight plastic not easily ripped lightweight plastic.
