What happens if an H1 light dies?, do you remove the cover and screw to replace the light or do you have to break the seal?

Both bulbs are accessible from the rear of the housing without separating the lens from the housing.

Are these 100% plug and play right out of the box or is there any special wiring required?

They are not plug and play 1 - factory turn signals lamp holders are reused 2 - factory high and low beam plug is reused 3 - the LED lights must be wired to your preference for example I wired the forward LED to work with low beams and I wired the side LED to work with my turn signals

Are they compatible for 2012?

Yes. They are compatible with all 4th Gen Mitsubishi eclipse models, from 2006 to 2012
