I bought this to replace a mushroom anchor we lost in the lake, one that always worked well for us. I was guessing at the weight when I made this purchase, trying to match the old anchor. When the new anchor arrived, I was a little concerned because it seemed to be quite a bit smaller in size than the old one -- even though the weight felt right. After several afternoons of anchoring our 24 foot pontoon boat, this anchor has proven itself to perform just fine. Our lake is mostly silt bottom. This anchor "burrows" right in and holds tight. We've had no problems even on windy, choppy days.

Was recommended a mushroom anchor for local lake, as it is difficult to set the standard fluke in the squishy bottom. This was perfect for my 18' bow rider in no current when we just want to take a swim.
